An ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation
of certain pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kanss
for the purpose of extending Front Street in the said City
and providing for appointment -.Of appraisers therefor..
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina;
Section 1. That it is necessary and shold be and is here-
by appropriated and condemned for the purpose of extending Front
Street'in the said City the following described tracts and pie-
ces of land, to -wit:
A11- that portion of . Lot No. 78 on Front Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas, east of a line drawn from the northeast
corner of said Lot and running.in a southwesterly direction,
to a point 75 feet east of the southwest corner of'said Lot.
All that portion of Lot No. 79 on Front Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas, east of a line drawn from a point 75
feet east of the northwest corner of said Lot and running in a
southwesterly direction to a point 31 feet east of the south-
west corner of said Lot.
All that portion of Lot No. 80 on Front Street in the
City of Salina,.Kansas, east of a line drawn from a point 31
feet east of the northwest corner of said Lot and running in a
southwesterly direction to a point 37 feet -south of the north-
west corner of said Lot.
'All that portion of Lot No. 81 on Front Street in the city
of Salina, Kansas, west of the Smoky Hill River.
All that portion of Lot No. 163 on Second Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas, east of a line drawn from the northeast
corner of said Lot running in a southwesterly direction to a
point 36 feet west of the southeast corner of said Lot.
All that portion of Lot No. 165 on Second Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas, east of a line drawn from a point 36
feet west of the northeast corner of said Lot, running in a
southwesterly direction to a point 50 feet east of the south-
west corner of said Lot.
.All that portion of Lot*No. 167 on Second Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas, east of a line drawn from a point 50
feet east of the northwest corner of said Lot running in a south-
westerly direction to a point 14 feet east of the southwest cor-
ner of said Lot.
Sec. 2. The Mayor by and with the consent of the Coun-
oil shall appoint three'disinterested appraisers and household-
ers to assess the damages caused thereby and who shall ascertain
the actual value of the land so taken without refe5ence to the
projected improvements and the actual damage done to all other
property thereby; for'the payment of such value and damages the
appraisers shall assess against the City the amount of benefit
to the City generally and the remaining amount shall be assessed
against the property within the Benefit District to be created
which in their opinion shall be especially benefited by the pro-
posed improvement; and such appraisers shall make due report of
their proceedings to the Council.

Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its publication once in the official City paper.
