An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalk -
in the city of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the.City of Salina:
Section 1. That the owner of owners of the lots.and par -
eels of land known and described as East 50 feetof Lot Nine (9),
block

Addition;
south side of
Lot Ten

Ten

Park
Addition,
and Lots four,
five,
six and
seven, Block Six (6) Elmdale Addition in the city of Salina,
Kansas, are hereby required to construct or cause to be construct-
ed on or before the 20th day of September, 1917, a sidewalk in
front of and adjacent to all the lots and parts of lots above
described, said sidewalk to be constructed of the material, width
and in the manner specified and required by the provisions of
Ordinance No. 1038, 1971 and 1974 of the printed ordinances of
the City,of Salina, which said Ordinances numbered 1038, 1971 and
1974 are hereby incoroporated in and made a part of this ordin-
ance,
Sec. -2. That the committee on sidewalks of the City Council
shall, as soon as practicable after the said 20th day of Septem-
ber, 1917, cause such'sidewalk as described in Section One hereof
to be constructed as herein provided where such owner or owners
fail, neglect or refuse to build the same, as provided herein,
and shall report their proceedings, together with the length and.
dimensions of the walk so constructed by said committee and the
actual expense thereof to the City Council.
Sec. 3. The expense of constructing said walk by said com-
mittee shall be assessed against the real estate abutting there-
on according to the front foot thereof, and collected as other tax-
es against such real estate.
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication once in the Salina Daily Union.
