An ordinance making -a special assessment and levy of taxes for
..the cutting of weeds on certain lots and parts of lots in
the city of Salina, Kansas, for the year 1917.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That there be and is hereby levied a special
tax for the year 1917 in addition to the tax for general revenue
and other purposes for said year, for the purpose of paying for
the cutting of -weeds by the City of Salina, on the lots and parts
of lots against which said taxes are levied, said tax to be lev-
ied on the lots and parts of lots described as follows, and to be
in the amounts as follows, to -wit:

Sec. 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to certify the
assessments made in Section One (1) hereof to the County Clerk of
Saline County, Kansas, to be placed upon the tax roll for col-
lection, subject to the same penalties and to be collected in the
same manner as other taxes are collected.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after pit publication once in the Salina Daily Union.
