2074 Construction Fire StationORDINANCE N0. 2074

An ordinance providing for the erection,, construction and comple-
tion of a fire station for the city, of Salina, Kansas, and
letting the contract therefor.
WHEREAS, upon the 3rd day of April, 1917, there was submit-
ted to the qualified electors of the city of Salina, Kansas, at
an election duly and legally held in said City, the proposition
of issuing bonds in the sum of Twenty, Thousand ($200000.00) Dol-
lars,, for the erection acid completion of a new Fire Station
building for said City; and
WHEREAS, at said election so held a majority of the votes
cast upon .such proposition were cast in favor thereof; Now There-
fore,
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Couhcilmen of the city of Salina:
Section 1. That it is necessary and hereby found necessary
to erect and construct a new fire station building in said City of
Salina, Kansas, for the use of the Fire Department of said City.
See. 2. That such, Fire Station buildung shall be located and
constructed upon Lot number Eighty -Six (86) on Fifth Street in the
City of Salina, Kansas.
Sec. 30 That such building shall be built and constructed
in strict conformity to and compliance with the original plans
and specifications including the amendments thereto and revisions
thereof adopted -by the Mayor and Council as the plans and spect-
f icat ions for such building upon the 25th day of June, 1917.
Such plans and specifications having been made and prepared by
Charles Wo Shaver, Architect of Salina, Kansas, which said plans
and specifications are hereby referred to and made a part of this
ordinance as fully and completely as though written out at length
herein.
Sec . 4. That the general contract be and is hereby let and
awarded unto J. A • Ferm of Salina.. Kansas, for the erection,
construction and completion of said Fire Station building accord-
ing to the -plans and specifications referred to and identified
in Section Three (3) of this ordinance, at and for the total con-
tract sum or price of $16,631.00, which said sum is the price at
which the

Ferm by his
written proposal under
date of
July 16th,
1917, and
now on file
with the City Clerk of
the City
of Salina, Kansas, agreed to accept for the erection, construction
and completion of said fire station building, and is hereby found
to be a fair and reasonable price for the erection and completion
thereof and is less than the estimated cost or price of said
building as made by the City Engineer of the City of Salina, which
estimate is now on file with the City Clerk of said City.

See. 5. The City Attorney is hereby directed to prepare
a contract in writing between the said City of Salina and the
said d • Ferm in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance
and the plans and specifications adopted for such work and that
said contract when prepared shall be executed for and on behalf
of said City by the Mayor and Clerk thereof.
See. 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force from ,and after its publication once in the official City
paper.
