2066 Improve Tenth StreetORDINANCE NO. 2066. (Published in the Sal-na Da it - -Union July An ordinance specifying and selecting the pavement material to be used* and letting the contract for the, paving and excavating of certain streets in the city of Salina, Kansas. Be it 'ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. The Mayor and Council hereby determine that Tenth Street in said City from the south' side of Prescott Avenue to the north side of Crawford Avenue and Wilson Stret in said City from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue 'to the east line of Highland Avenue shall be paved with one course Vitrified Vertical Fiber side . wire cut Buffalo Brick Paving Blocks, or brick equally as good, two and one-half (2Q) inches deep, with Texaco Asphalt Pill- ' er, or filler equally as good, on a four (4) -inch Portland Cement Concrete base, with one and one-half (li) inch sand cushion. Such pavements -shall be of the following widths: on Tenth Street within the limits above defined said paving shall be neneteen (19) feet -in width from gutter to gutter. On Wi i son -street; within the limits above defined said pave - meat shall" be thirty-one (31) feet in width from gutter to gutter. All - excavating, rolling and .filling necessary for the pro- per construction of such pavement shall be done and such pavement shall be laid and constructed on the established grade of said streets and the paving shall return to the lot lines of such streets at the intersection of such street with any other street and alley. Sec 2. All excavating,, filling and rolling necessary for the proper construction of such improvement shall be done and all of such improvements shall be made and done in strict con- formity to and in compliance with the plans and specifications made heretofore by the City Engineer and are now on file with the City. Clerk, which said plans and specifications are hereby incor- porated in and made a part hereon, in all respects as fully and completely as though written. out at length herein;. and such plans and specifications are hereby adopted as and for the plans and- specif icat ions of such work and improvements. Sec. 3. A contract is hereby awarded to M • R. Amerman of Salina, Kansas, for the paving, excavating and filling of said above mentioned streets within the limits aforesaid, with the material specified in Section One (1) hereof, at a price per square yard of $2.02 for such pavement actually laid and put in place on said Street -s. All of said pavement is to be paid for according to the measurement thereof by the City Engineer of the 1 W: 2bP('fi Ij 1 1 City of 'Salims' and the Mayor and Council of said City hereby determined and find that the price herein agreed and specified to be paid for the. improvement afroesaid, are less than .the esti- mated prices and cost of such a s made and furnished by the City Engineer, which estimated cost of each and all of said improve- ments is now on file with the City Clerk. Sec. 41. Such contract is, awarded upon the express condition that such work and improvement shall. be done in strict accordance with and in compliance with the plans and specifications of the City Engineer therefor, which are hereby made a part of this ordin- ance., and..of the contract hereby awarded, and upon the further con- dition among others., that the.said M• R' Amerman, shall give to the City of Salina, a surety bond in the approximate sum of the cost of - such improvements, guaranteeing the proper and workmanlike con- struction of all of such work and improvements and guaranteeing such pavement against all defects .for a period of five (5) years from the date of its completion and acceptance by said City. Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in` the official City, paper.
