2065 Improve Tenth StreetH � 35)2 ORDINANCE NO. 2065. (Published in the Salina Daily Union July / 1917) An ordinance specifying and selecting the material to be used and letting the contract for the curbing and guttering of cer- tain streets in the bity of Salina., Kansas. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Lection 1. That the Mayor and Council hereby, determine that .Tenth Street in the city of Salina, Kansas, from the south side of Prescott Avenue to the north side of Crawford Avenue, and Wilson Street in said City from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of Highland Avenue shall each and all be curbed and guttered with one-piece cement curb and gutter. The curb to be six (6) inches in thickness at the top and seven (7) inches at the base and sixteen (16) inches in depth.- The gutter to be six (6) inches in thickness next to the curb and eight (8) inches next to the street. The width of the gutter to be forty-two (42) inches measured from the back of the curb to the edge of the gutter next to the street. Sec. 2. That a contract be and is hereby let to. and awarded - to L. H. Lyon for the curbing and guttering of all of the herein- before mentioned streets, within the limits hereinbefore defined, and with the materials specified in Section One (1) hereof, at a price of ninety-six cents (96¢) per lineal foot for the curbing and guttering actually laid on said streets; all of such work to be done in strict compliance with and in accordance with the plans an d specifications of ,the City engineer of the city of Salina, Kansas, for the construction of such 'curb and gutter. Sec. 3. Such contract is awarded upon the express condition that the work and improvements to be done thereunder shall be done in strict. accordance with Ordinance No. 2064 and that all of such work shall be done in a proper and workmanlike manner; and upon the further condition that the said 1 • H. Lyon to whom said contract is awarded, shall give to the City of Salina, Kansas, a surety bond in a sum approximating the costs of such improvements, guarantee- ing said curbing and guttering against all defects for a period of two years from the time of the completion and acceptance of such curbing and guttering by the Mayor and Council of the City of Salina. Said bond to be approved as to its sufficiency by the Mayor of said City and as to its form by the City Attorney. See. 4. The curbing and guttering of Tenth. Street within the limits hereinbefore defined shall be so constructed that the lot line edges thereof shall be thirteen (13) feet from and para- llel with the center of such street. 1 1 1 1 1 2bPG11 1 1 1 3 a �' 3 5 The curbing and guttering of Milson Street within the limits hereinbefore defined shall be so constructed that the lot line edges thereof shall be nineteen (19) feet from and parallel with the cen- ter of such street. Sec. 5. All excavating and filling necessary fro the proper construction of such curbing and guttering shall be done by the said L. H. Lyon, and all of such improvements shall be done in strict conformity to and in compliance with the plans and specifica- tions of the City Engineer of the City of Salina, Kansas, for the construction of such work and improvements, which said plans and specificat ions are hereby made a part of this ordinance and incor- porated herein as fully and completely as though written out at length herein. See. 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the official City paper. Passed and approved, July 16th, 1917. (SEA.L) Attest: a s .
