An ordinance letting the contract for the curbing and guttering
of Seventh Street, from the north line of Elm Street to the
south line of Pine Street; Fifth Street, -from the south . 1 ine of
Crawford Avenue -to the south *1 ine of Prescott Avenue; College
Avenue, from the north line of Park Street to the south line of
Bishop Street; Bishop Street from the west line of Thirteenth
'Street to the east line. of College Avenue; Bond Street from the
west line of Santa Fe Avenue to ,the east line of Highland
Avenue; Prescott Avenue, from the west line of Ninth Street to
the east line of Eleventh; Twelfth Street, from the north line
of Ash Street to the south line of Bishop Street.
to it ordained by the Payor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That a contract i -s hereby let to L. H. Lyon for the
curbing and guttering of Seventh Street, from the north line of Elm
Street to the south line of Pine Street; Fifth Street, from the south
line of Crawford Avenue to the south line of Prescott Avenue;
College Avenues from the north line of Park Street to the south line
of Bishop Street; Bishop Street, from the west line of Thirteenth
Street to the east line of College Avenue; Bond Streets from the
west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the east line of Highland Avenue;
Prescott Avenue, from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line
of Eleventh Street; Twelfth Street, from the north line of Ash Street
to the south line of Bishop Street; at and for the uniform price of
forty-five cents (45.¢) per lineal foot for the lineal feet of cement
curb placed on such streets; forty-six cents (46¢) per lineal foot
for the lineal feet of cement gutter placed on such streets; ninety-
one cents (91¢) per lineal foot for the lineal feet of combination
curb and gutter placed on such streets; and ninety-five cents (95yG)
per lineal foot for the lineal feet of two-piece curb and gutter
placed on such streets; the different kinds of such cement curbing and
guttering shall be placed on such streets in such manner and in such
amounts, as to each kind, as the City Engineer shall direct and accord-
ing to the plans and specifications of such City Engineer for the
construction of such curb and gutter.
Sec. 2. Such contract is awarded upon the express conditoin
that the work and improvements to be performed thereunder shall 'be
done in strict accordance with the plans and specifications of the
City Engineer for the construction of such work and improvements and
in accordance with Ordinances Nos. 19910 1928s 1972, 2004, 1973, 1955
and 1986, and that all of such work shall be done in a proper and
workmanlike manner, and upon the further condition that the said
L. H- Lyon shall give to the City of Salina a surety bond in the
approximate sum of the cost of such improvements, guaranteeing such
curbing and guttering against all defects for a period of two years,
such bond to be approved as to suff is iency by the Mayor and. as to
form by the City Attorney.

Sec. 3. The surbing arid -guttering -of -said Seventh Street.,
from the north line of Elm Street to the south line of Pine Street
shall be so set that the lot line edges of such curbing shall be
twenty-four (24) feet from and parallel with the center line of
such street; ,
On Fifth meet , from the south line. of Crawford Avenue to the
south line of Prescott Avenue, such curbing and guttering shall be
so constructed that the lot line edges of such curb shall be nineteen
(19) feet from and parallel with the center line of such street;
On College_ Avenue, from the north line of Park Street to
the south line of Bishop Street, such curbing and guttering shall be
so constructed, that the •lot line edges thereof shall be nineteen
(19) feet from and parallel with the center of such street;
On Righo,p AttPt, from the west line of Thirteenth Street to
the east line of College AvenueT such curbing and guttering shall
be so constructed that the lot line edges thereof shall be thirty
(30) feet north of and parallel to south line of said street;
On Bond Stroet, from the west line of Santa Fe Avenue to the
east line of Highland Avenue, such curbing and guttering shall be so
constructed that the lot line edges thereof shall be twenty and one-
half (202) feet from and parallel with the center line of such
street;
On Prescott Avenue, from the west line of Ninth Street to the
east -line -of Eleventh Street, such curbing and guttering shall be
so constructed that the lot line edges thereof shall be fifteen and
one-half (1 5-21) feet from and parallel with the center of such
street ;
On Twelfth Street, from the north line of Ash Street to the
south line of Bishop Street, such curbing and guttering shall be so
constructed that the lot line edges thereof shall be nineteen (19)
feet from and parallel with the center of such street;
Sec. 4. All excavating and filling necessary for the proper
construction of such curbing and guttering shall be cb ne by said

Engineer for the construction of such improvements which plans and
specifications are hereby made a part of this ordinance as fully as

Sec. 5 . This ordinance shall take . effect and be in force
