ORDINANCE NO. 2010.
An ordinance appropriating the sum of Sixteen Thousand Dollars,
($163,000.00) as a preliminary payment to A. R. Young&
Company, on - the ' pavement of Santa Ve Avenue from Wanut
to North Street.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. The sum of Sixteen Thousand Dollars,
($16,000.00) is hereby appropriated out of the Paving Fund in
the hands of the City Treasurer in payment of the following
claim:
To A. R. Young & Company, As partial paymerpt on the resur-
facing of Santa a Avenue with _.
Trinidad Lake Asphaltic -Concrete,
two (2) inches thick, and prepar
ing the -base on such street for'
t he ' lay ing - of such - re -surface,
between the south side of Walnut
Street and the north side' of 'North
Street --------------$16,000.00
Sec. 2. Scrip for the amount specified in Section One
(1) hereof shall be issued, payable on or before ninety (90)
days from date, bearing six per cent (6%) interest.
Sec. 3. The above partial payment made under the provi-
sions of Ordinance No. 1981 and the contract for such work be-
tween said A- R- Young & Company and The City of Sal-ina, and
such partial payment shall not be considered as an acceptance
of all or any part of the work or improvement on which such
payment is made, and shall in no manner prevent the City of
Salina from hereafter rejecting all or any part of such work
and improvement, and requiring said A. R• Young & Company to
re-lay said pavement and re -const rust all or any part of such
wprk and improvement under the terms and conditions of said
contract between A. R. Young & Company and The City of Salina,
or under the terms of the Performance Bond given by said A. R.
Young & Company and The Southern Surety Company to The City of
Salina for the proper and workmanlike construction of said pave-
ment.
Sec..4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its publication once in The Salina Daily
Union.
