ORDINANCE NO. 2009
(Published in the Salina Daily IInion December 23rd, 1916)
An ordinance amending Section Two (2) of Ordinance No. 1981,
passed -and approved August 21st,, 1916-, and repealing
such original Section Two (2) of Ordinance No. 1981.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That Section Two (2)ofOrdinance No. 19819
passed and approved, August 21st, 1916, be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows, to -wit:
"See. 2. The presenr bitulithio and aspahlt pavement on
said street shall be excavated and removed in so far as such
removal and excavation is necessary to lay thereon a first-class
pavement as herein provided. All holes and -defects in the pres-
ent base on said street shall be refilled and repaired in a proper
and workmanlike manner, and on such repaired base shall`be laid
a pavement of Trinidad Asphaltic -Concrete,, - not less than two
inches in thickness. Said pavement shall be excavated and re-
moved as aforesaid so as to leave the present base on said street
intact, except a three foot strip along and adjoining the curb
on either side thereof and said base. shall be repaired according
to the plans and specifications of the City Engineer for the do:hg
of such work, herein made a part of this ordinance. Said pave-
ment to be laid and constructed as herein provided for shall ex-
tend over the whole width of said street except a space three feet
wide along and adjoining the curb now located on either side
thereof and except the Space within the rails of all street car
tracks on such street and for a distance of fourteen (14) inches
on the putside of all rails of all street car tracks located on
said street; Provided however that at the intersections of
streets and alleys with said Santa Fe Avenue that pavement shall
extend to the lot line on said Santa Fe Avenue."
Sec. 2. All action of the Mayor and Council and A. R.
Young -& Company in laying and constructing the pavement and exca-
vating therefor to be laid and constructed under the terms of
said Ordinance No. 1981, in accordance with Section Two (2) of
such Ordinance ,No. -1981 as herein amended,, Is hereby fully rati-
fied and confirmed.
See. 3. Original Section Two (2) of Ordinance No. 1981
is hereby repealed.
Sec., 4. This ordinarice shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication once in The Salina Daily Union.
