An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalk in
the city of Salina, Kansas.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1 That the owner or owners of any and all real estate
abutting on the west side of Tenth Street., from the southeast corner
of Lot 16, Block 10, Depot Addition to the City of Salina, thence
spt;th to the north line of North Street, thence west along the north
line of North Street to the west line of Eleventh Street., in the city
of Salina, Kansas, are hereby required to construct or cause to be
constructed on or before the 1st day (If November, 1916 a sidewalk in
front of and adjacent to all the lots or parts above described, said
sidewalk to be constructed of the material, width and in the manner
specified and required by the provisions of Ordinance Nos. 1038,
1971 and 1974 of the printed ordinances of the City of ''alines, which
said ordinance Nos. 1038, 1971 and 1974 are hereby'incorporated in
and made a pari of this ordinance.
Sec. 2. That the Committee on sidewalks of the City Council
shall, as soon as practicable after the said lst day of November,
1916 cause such sidewalk as described in Section One hereof to be con -
strutted as herein provided where such owner or owners fail, neglect
or refuse to build the same, as provided herein, and shall report their
proceedings, together with the length and dimensions of the walk so
constructed by said Committee and the actual expense thereof to the
City Council.
See. 3. The expense of constructing said walk by said committee
shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon according
to the front foot thereof, and collected as other taxes against such
real estate.
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in froce from
and after its publication once, in The Salina Daily Union.
