1988 Improve Thirteenth Street?bP(I'H 103 ORDINANCE N0. 1988-- - - ---- - -°--- --- --- - ---- ----- ___�__�___------------------- (Published in the Salina Daily Union September 23rd, 1916) An ordinance amending Sect ion Three (3) of Ordinance No. 1964, passed and approved June 26, 1916, and repealing such orig- inal Section Three (3) . WHEREAS, a contract was let to A. R. young & Company of Lawrence Kansas, on the 26th day of June, 1916, for the paving, excavating and filling of Twelfth Street in the city of Salina, Kansas from the north line of Bishop Street to the south line of North -Street;' and Phillips Street in such City, from the south line of the right- of-way of The Union Pacific Railroad Company to the south line of the right of way of The Missouri Pac if is Railway Company, and WHEREAS, the price agreed to be paid for the excavating of such streets. was forty cents (40¢) per cubic yard, but such price was not mentioned in Section Three -(3) of Ordinance No. 1964, therefore, Be it ordained by the Mayor and -Councilmen of the City of Salina: the uniform price of forty cents (40¢) per cubic yard for the cubic yards of dirt actually removed from said streets. Such paving and excavating shall be paid for according to the measurements there- for by the City Engineer of said City, and the Mayor and Council hereby determine and find that the price hereby agreed to be paid for the improvements aforesaid, are less than the estimated prices and costs of each and all 'of said improvements as made and furnish- ed by the City Engineer, which estimated cost of each and all of such improvements is now on file with the City Clerk. " Sec. 2. Section Three (3) of Ordinance No. 1964 is hereby repealed. Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the Salina Daily Union. That Sect ion Three (3) of Ordinance No. 1964, passed and approved June 26th, 1916, be and is hereby amended to read as follows, to -wit; "Sec. 3. A contract is hereby awarded to A. R. Young & Com- pany of Lawrence.. Kansas, for the paving of Twelfth Street in the city of Salina, Kansas, from the north line of Bishop Street to the south line of North Street; and Phillips Street in such City, from the south line of the right of way of The Union Pacific Rail- road Company to the south line of the right of way of The Missouri Pacific Railway Company, with the material specified in Section One (l) -hereof, laid on a five inch concrete base, at and for the uni- form price of $2.15 per square yard, for the square yards of such paving actually laid and put in place on said streets, all of such pavement to have an asphalt filler, and a contract is hereby let to A. R. Young & Company of Lawrence, Kansas, for the excavating of said streets, within the limits hereinbefore defined at and for the uniform price of forty cents (40¢) per cubic yard for the cubic yards of dirt actually removed from said streets.
