1985 Appoint Appraisers146 --- — -- .-- - - - - - - - - -ORDINANCE N0. 1.985 (Published in the Salina Dail Union September 23rd 1916 An ordinance accepting the report of the appraisers appointed for the purpose of appraising the ground to be condemned and appropriated for the purpose of opening, widening and extend- ing Bishop Street from Thirteenth Street to College Avenue, appropriating the sum of $615.00, for payment fro the ground so appropriated and condemned, and establishing Bishop Street in the city of Salina, Kansas, from the west line of Thirteenth Street to the east line of College Avenue or Fifteenth Street. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. The report of the appraisers Fred H. Quincy, T. D. Fitzpatrick and C. L. Wight upon the appraisement of the lots and pieces of ground condemned and appropriated for the purpose of open- ing, widening and extending Bishop Street in the city of Salina, Kansas, from the west line of Thirteenth Street to the east line of College Avenue to Fifteenth Street is hereby accepted as the same was filed with the city clerk ~ on the 11th day of August, 1916, and is now on file. Sec. 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the General Fund of the City the sum of $615.00 as payment for the lots and pieces of ground condemned and appropriated for the purpose of widening, open- ing and extending Bishop, within the limits defined in Section One hereof, such sum to be paid to the persons hereinafter named, in the sums hereinafter mentioned and for the property hereinafter described, to -wit: To F. L. Weaver for that part of Lot 1 on Fifteenth Street, in Weaver's Second Addition to the city of Salina, Kansas, lying north of a line one hundred feet south of and parallel with the center line of the main line track of The Missouri Pacific Railway Company, ------------------------------------------ 1.00 To William Dunphy for that part of Lot 6 on Fourteenth Street, in Weaver's Second Addt ion to the city of Salina, Kansas, lying north of a line one hundred feet south of and parallel with the cen- ter line of the main line track of The Missouri Pacific Railway Company, -----------------------------------------$ 10.00 To F. L. Weaver for that part of Lots 8, 10, 11 and 13, on Fourteenth Street; in Weaver's Second Addition to the city of Salina, lying north of a line one hundred feet south of and parallel with the center line of the main line track of The Missouri Pacific Rail- way Company, ------------------------------------- 78.00 To Mary Reed and Hattie Reed, as their interest appears of record; for that part of the south fifteen feet of Lot 11, on Four- teenth Street, in Weaver's Second Addition to the city of Salina, Kansas, lying north of aline one hundred feet south of and parallel with the center line of the main line track of the Missouri Pacific Railway Company ----------------------------------- $ 25.00 To D. Bishop Street, in the city of Salina, Kansas, is hereby opened, widened, and extended, from the west line of Thirteenth Street to the east line of College Avenue or Fifteenth Street, so as to include all that tract, ' piece and parcel of ground lying south of the right of way of the Missouri Pacific Railway Company, as provided for and described in Ordinance No. 1947 and north of the following described line, to. -wit: Beginning at the intersection of the south line of Bishop Street, as now established, .and the west line of Thirteenth Street; thence in a southwesterly direction by a right line Two Hundred Eight (208) Feet to a point one hundred (100) feet southeasterly from, when measured at right angles, the center line of the main line track of The Missouri Pacific Railway Company as now located; thence southwesterly, one hundred (100) feet from and parallel to the center line of the main line track of The Missouri Pacific Railway Company, to the east line of College avenue or Fifteenth Street. Sec. 4. The lots and parts of lots described in Section Two (2) hereof are hereby appropriated and condemned for the pur- pose of opening, widening and extending 1pishop Street as described in Section Three (3) hereof. Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in The Salina Baily Union. Passed and approved, September 18th, 1916. J. E. Putnam^ Mayor.
