An ordinance making a levy of taxes for general revenue and other=
purposes in the City of Salina, Kansas, for the year 1916.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That the sum of £ivb�,and�,eight.t.enths mills
(.0058) on the dollar be and same is hereby levied.on all real,
personal and mixed property in the city of Salina, Kansas, for the
year 1916, for the following purposes and apportioned and divided
as follows, to -wit:
For General Revenue three mills (.003) on the dollar,
For a sinking fund two-tenths of a mill ( .0002) on the dollar,
For paying interest on outstanding bonds three -tenths of a
mill (.0003) on the dollar,
For the support of a free public library two-tenths of a
mill (.0002) on the dollar,
For paying the annual installments of and interest on bonds
issued during the years 1906, 1907, 1909, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913,

1915 and 1916, to pay for the paving and improving of the squares
and areas of streets one and five -tenths mills (:0015) on the dol-
lar.
For a light fund one-tenth of a mill ( .0001) on the dollar,
For a water fund one-tenth of a mill (.0001) on the dollar,
For a park contingent fund one-tenth of a mill ( .0001) on the
dollar,
For a fund for the maintenance of Fire Department and for the
purchase of equipment therefor, three -tenths of a mill (.0003) on
the dollar.
Sec. 2. That one and five -tenths mills (.0015) on the dollar
be and the same is hereby levied on all real estate in the city of
Salina, Kansas, for the year 1916, for the purpose of paying the
annual installments of and the interest on the outstanding sewer
bonds of the City, issued on the dates of January 1, 1907; July 1,
1908; January 1, 1909; March 1, 1910; July 1, 1909; September 1,
1911; April �, 1913; June 1, 1914; December 1, 1914; April 1, 1915
and June lst, 1916.
Sec. 3. The valuation of the property upon which the fore-
going taxeas are levied and assessed, is in all cases taken from the
assessment rolls of the present year in the office of the County
Clerk of Saline County, Kansas; and it shall be the duty of the
City Clerk immediately upon the passage of this ordinance to trans-
mit a duly certified copy of the same to the County Clerk, of Saline
County, Kansas, to be placed upon the tax roll and collected..accord-
ing to law.

Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication once in the Salina Daily Union.
