An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalk in
the city of Salina-, Kansas.
Be .it ordained by the mayor and councilmen of the city of Salina:
Section 1. That the owner of owners of any and all real estate
abutting on the west side of Second Street from the south line of
Walnut Street to the north pine of Mulberry Street, in the city of
Salina, Kansas, are hereby required to construct or cause to be
constructed on or before the lst day of September, 1916, a sidewalk
in front of and adjacent to all the lots or parts of lots above de=
scribed, said sidewalk to be constructed of the material, width and
in the manner specified and required by the provisions of Ordinance
Nos. 1038 and 1971, of the printed ordinances of the city of Salina,
which said Ordinance Nos. 1038 and 1971 are hereby incorporated
in and made a part of this ordinance.
Sec. 2. That the committee on sidewalks of the city council
shall, as soon as practicable after the said 1st day of September,
1916, cause such sidewalk as described in Section One hereof to be
constructed as' herein provided where such owner or owners fail, neglect
or refuse to build the same, as provided herein, and shall report
their proceedings, together with the length and dimensions of the walk
so constructed by said committee and the actual expense thereof to
the City C ounc it .
See. 3. The expense of constructing said walk by said commit-
tee
ommit-
tee shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon accord-
ing to the front foot thereof, and collected as other taxes against
such real estate.
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication once in The Salina Daily Union..
