1956 Improve Tenth Street12bPU11 1 1 1 11 1 ORDINANCE NO. 1956 (Published in the Salina Dailv Union 1916' An ordinance providing for and letting the contract for the curb- ing and guttering of Tenth Street from'the north line of Lincoln Avenue to the. south: line of Grand Avenue; Third Street from the south line of Walnut street to the north line of Mulberry Street; Second Street from the south line of Walnut Street to the north line of Mulberry Street; Fifth Street from the south line of . Prescott Avenue to the north line of Bond Street; Elm Street from the east line of Fourth Street to the east line of Front Street; Tenth Street from the south line of Morrison Avenue to. the north line of Prescott Avenue; Twelfth Street from the south line Walnut Street to the north line of South Street; Tenth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the north line of Park Street; Penn Avenue from the north line of Iron Avenue to the south line of Ash Street ; Phillips Street from the north line of Walnut Street to the south line of Ash Street; also Bishop Street from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of Thirteenth Street. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That a contract is hereby let to L. H. Lyon for the curbing and guttering of Tenth Street from the north line of Lincoln Avenue to the south line of Gradn Avenue; Bishop Street from the west line of Ninth Street to the east line of Thirteenth Street; Third Street from the south line of Walnut Street to the north line of Mulberry Street; Second Street from the south line of Walnut Street to the north line of Mulberry Street; Fifth Street from the south line of Prescott .Avenue to the north line of Bond Street; Elm Street from the east line of Fourth Street to the east line of Front Street; Tenth Street ffom the south line of Morrison Avenue to the north line -of Prescott Avenue; Twelfth Street from, the south line of Walnut Street to the north line of South Street; Tenth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the north line of Park Street; Penn Avenue from the north line of Iron Avenue to the south line of Ash Street; and Phillips Street, from the north line of Walnut Street to the south line of Ash Street, at and for the uniform price of forty-five (45�) cents per lineal foot, for the lineal feet of cement curb placed on such streets; forty-six (46¢) cents per lineal foot for the lineal feet of cement gutter placed on such streets; eighty-five (85¢) cents per lineal foot for the lineal feet of combination curb and gutter placed on such streets; and ninety -cents (900 per lineal foot for the lineal feet of two-piece curb and gutter placed on such streets; the different kinds of such cement curbing and guttering shall be placed on such streets in such manner and in such amounts as .to each kind, as the City Engineer shall direct and according to the plans and specifications of such City Engineer for the con- struction of such curb and gutter. 0 1-2 See. 2 . Such contract is awarded upon the express condition that the work and improvements to be performed thereunder shall be done in strict accordance with the plans and specifications of the City Engineer for the construction of such .work and improvements and in accordance with Ordinances Nos. 1928, 1943 and 1944, and that all of such work shall be done in a proper and workmanlike manner, and upon the further condition that the said L. H. Lyon, shall give to the City of Salina a surety bond in the approximate sum of the cost of such improvements, guaranteeing such curbing and guttering against all defects for a period of two years, such bond to be approved as to sufficiency by the Mayor and as to form by the City Attorney. Sec. 3. The curbing and guttering of said Tenth Street from _ Lincoln Avenue to Grand Avenue shall be so set that the lot line edges of such curbing shall be naneteen (19) feet from and parallel with the center line of such street; on Third Street, from the south line of Walnut Street to Mul- berry Street such curbing and guttering shall be so constructed that the lot line edges of such curb shall be nineteen (19) feet from and parallel with the center line of such street ; On Second Street, from Walnut Street to Mulberry Street such curbing and guttering shall be so constructed that the lot line edges thereof shall be nineteen (19) feet from and parallel with the center line of such ' st reet ; On Fifth Street from Prescott Avenue to Bond Street such curb- ing and guttering shall be so constructed that the lot line edges of such curbing shall be fifteen and one-half x(152) feet from and parallel with the center line of such street ; On Elm Street from .Fourth Street to Front Street such curbing and guttering shall be so constructed that the lot line edges there- of shall be twenty-four (24) feet from and parallel with the center line of such street ; On Tenth Street from Morrison Avenue to Prescott Avenue such curbing and guttering shall be so constructed that the lot line edges thereof shall be thirteen (13) feet from and parallel with the center line of such street; On Twelfth Street from Walnut Street to South Street such curbing and guttering shall be so constructed that the lot line edges 1 I- I 1 1 2bPGH 11 1 1 1 thereof shall be nineteen _(19) feet from and parallel with the center line of such street; On Tenth Street from Ash Street to Park Street such curbing and guttering shall be so constructed that the lot line edges there- of shall be nineteen (19) feet from and parallel with the center line of such street; On Penn Avenue from Iron Avenue to Ash Street such curbing and guttering shall be so constructed that the lot line edges thereof shall be nineteen (19) feet from and parallel with the cen- ter line of such street; and on Phillips Street from the south side of Walnut Street to the north line of Ash Street, such curbing and guttering shall be so constructed that the lot line edges thereof shall be nine4 teen (19) feet from and parallel with the center line of such street. See. 4. All excavating and filling necessary for the proper construction of such curbing and guttering shall be done by said L. H. Lyon; and all of such improvements shall be. done is conformity with the plans and specifications of the City Engineer for the con- struction of such improvements which plans and specifications are hereby made a part of this ordinance as fully as if set out at length herein.
