1949 Eminent Domain Extend Bishop Street21J1 G (! 1 1 1 u O R D I N A N -C E_.-... -- N 0 .___1949_-____-- -- An ordinance providing for the appropriation and condemnation of certain real estate in the city of Salina, Kansas, for the purpose of opening, widening and extending Bishop Street in said City, . between-Thirteerith Street and College Avenue or Fifteenth Street; providing for the appointment of appraisers and prescribing their duties. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. It is hereby declared necessary to condemn and appropriate for public use for the purpose of opening, widening and extending Bishop Street in Salina, Kansas, between Thirteenth Street and College Avenue or Fifteenth Street, all the following described real property to -wit: All that tract or parcel of land between Thirteenth (13th) Street and College Avenue or Fifteenth (15th) Street in the city of Salina, Kansas, lying south of the right-of-way of the Missouri Pacific Railway Company as provided for and described by Ordinance No. 1947 passed and approved May 22d, 1916, and as established by one certain deed executed by the .Missouri Pacific Railway Company to the City of Salina, dated August 18th, 1915, and lyjAg-; north of the following described line: Beginning -at the intersect ion of the south line of Bishop Street and the west line of Thirteenth Street, thence in a south- westerly direction by a rdght line Two Hundred and Eight (208) feet to a point One Hundred (100) feet southeasterly from when meas- ured at right angles the center line of the main track of the said Missouri Pacific Railway Company as now located; thence southwesterly One Hundred (100) feet from and parallel to the center line of said main track to the east line of College avenue or Fifteenth Street . Sec. 2. The Council shall by ordinance appoint three disin- terested householders of the city who shall qualify and proceed to give notices and assess the damage caused by the condemnation and appropriation of said above described real property for the purpose aforesaid, and said appraisers or householders shall report their proceedings to the mayor and council in all things as provided by law, and shall upon completion of thier report file the same with the city clerk. Sec. 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal. Passed and approved May 22d, 1916. J. E. Putnam: (SEAL) Mayor.
