1942 Levying Special AssessmentsM ORD I N A N CE N0. 1942. (Published in the Salina Evening Journal Wim, 1916.) An ordinance levying and assessing special assessments on certain lots -and pieces of ground in the city of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of paving the alley between Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street in said City, from a point one hundred feet north of the north -line of Ash Street- to- the south line Of,an alley running east and gest along the north line of Lot Fifty Nine (59) on Santa- Ve -Avenue and -the north line of Lot Sixty (60) on Fifth Street , .- and- relat Ing to and providing for the collection of such assessments. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Sa 1 ina : Section 1. For the purpose of paying the cost of paving and excavating the alley between Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street in the city of Salina, Kansas, from a point one hundred feet north of the north line of Ash Street, such point being the south line of Lot Seventy Three (73) on Santa Fe Avenue, to the north line of Lot Fifty - Nine on Santa Fe Avenue, as described in Ordinance No. 1885, there are hereby levied and assessed on the property liable therefore, being the property abutting on such alley and facing on !Santa Fe Avenue and Fifth Street, according to the appraised value thereof, for the purpose of such improvement, without regard -to the buildings or improvements thereon, special assessments covering the cost of such work and im- provements; said special assessments being -based on the special valua- tion of such lots and pieces of ground heretofore made by three dis- interested appraisers appointed by the Mayor and Council for the pur- pose of arcking such appraisement, which appraisement is hereby re- ferred to and made a part of this ordinance; and the several amounts levied and assessed against the lots and pieces of ground aforesaidm for the purpose aforesaid, are hereby found to be as follows, to -wit: Lot 73, Santa Fe AvenueIt 71, 69, .......... 52:25 It S*, 1/2 :.. 24:75 69, it et N. 1/2 ... 24:75 n 67, a It •••••••••• 4950 It n It �. 46.75 63 , v It it .......... n ' 61 n n a .......... 44:00 If , 59, " t' n .......... 44.00 If 74, Fifth Fifth Street . , ' ' ' ....... 44.00 44.00 If 72 a S. 1/2 a 72' u it ..... Such amounts so levied and assessed shall be due and payable from and after the publication of this ordinance; and it shall by the duty of the city clerk to certify to the county clerk of Saline County,,Kansas, in the same manner and at the same time as other taxes are certified for the year 1917, all of the above special assessments which have not been paid within thirty days after the publication of 1 1 1 1 1 of this ordinance, together with interest on such amounts in the sum of five per cent of such amounts, and such amounts so certified shall be placed on the tax roll and collected as other taxes are collected.
