1922 Sidewalk Improvementsn 0 R D INAN C E N 0. 1922 i Publ ished * in the Salina -Even in -g - Journal o ti",,�J� An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalk in the City of Salina, Kansas, and for the raising of certain sidewalk in such City. Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina: Section 1. That the owners of Lots 108 and 110 on Fourth Street, in the city of Salina, Kansas, original town site, are here- by required to construct or cause to be constructed a sidewalk on Iron Avenue in front of and adjacent to such lots, such sidewalk to be constructed of brick from the east end of the present walk; adjacent to such lots, to the west rail of The Union Pacific Rail- way, and of cement from the east rail of such railway to the west end of the cement bridge. Sec. 2. That, the owners of Lots 107 and 109 on Fourth Street and of Lots 108 and 110 on Third Street in the city of Salina, Kan- sas, are hereby required to construct a cement sidewalk in front of and adjacent to such lots on Iron Avenue;, Sec. 3.. That the owner or owners of any and all real estate abutting on, the north side of Ellsworth Avenue in the city of Sa- lina, Kansas, from the west side of Fourth Street to the west side of Osborn Street; the west side of Tenth Street from the south line of Ash Street to the north line of Lot 10, -Bishop's Addition to the City of Salina; the south side of Beloit Avenue, from the west line of Fourth Street to the west line of Osborn Street; the east side of Highland Avenue, from Jewell Avenue to Republic Avenue; the east side of Thirteenth Street from the north line of Elm Street to the north line of Lot 11, ' on Thirteenth Street, Weaver's Second Addition to the City of Salina; are -hereby required to construct or cause to be constructed on or before the 17th day of April, 1916, a sidewalk along such streets and in front of and adjacent to such real estate. Sec . 4. That the owner or owners of any and all real estate abutting on, the east side of Fifth Street from the south line of -Walnut-,Street to the north line of South Street; the east side of Fifth Street along and adjacent to Lots 3, 4 and 5, Block 3, Replat of Beebe's Second Addition to Salina, and along and adjacent to Lots 1 and 3, Block 2, Replat of Beebe's second addition to Salina; the west side of Thirteenth Street, from the south line of Lot two on Thirteenth .Street, Weaver's Second Addition to the City of Salina, to the north line of Lot sixteen on Thirteenth Street, in said ad- dition; the west side of Fifth Street from the south line of Mulberry Street to the north line of South Street; the east side of Santa Fe 11 1 1 1 D 2bPU11 1 1 1 1 Avenue from the north line of Lot 55 to the south line of Lot 65 on such street; and that the owner or owners of Lots 21 on Ninth Street and Lot 22 on Highland Avenue in Prescott'.8-Addition to Salina; the north one-half of Lot 69 on Santa Fe Avenue, original town site, Lot 3, R.eplat of Block 5, South Park Addition to Salina; north one- half of Lot 6, and part of Lot 4, Block 17, South Park Addit ion, to Salina; Lots 108, 106, South one-half of 104, 102, 100, 98, South one-half of 96, North one-half of 92, 90 and 88 on Fifth Street, original town .site, be and are hereby required to raise or cause to be raised to proper grade as it shall be given to them by the City Engineer,,. the sidewalk in front of and adjacent to such lots and real estate, on or before the 17th day of April, 1916. See. 5. All of the above mentioned walk to :be constructed shall be constructed of the material, width and in the manner speci- fied and required by the provisions of Ordinance No. 10382 of the City of Salina, which ordinance is hereby made a part of this ordin- ance. See. 6. The committee on sidewalks of the City Council shall, as soon as practicable after the said 17th day of April, 1916, cause any sidewalk mentioned herein to be constructed and raised to be so constructed and raised as herein provided if the owner or owners of property liable for such construction and raising shall fail, neglect or.: - refuse to so construct or raise them as herein provided, and shall report their proceedings together with the length and dimensions of the walk so constructed by said committee and the actual expense there- of to the City Council. Sec. 7. The expense of constructing said walk by said committee shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon according to the front foot thereof, and collected as other taxes against said real estate.
