RESOLUTION NUMBER 1511
A RESOLUTION pertaining to proposed flood protections works for the City
of Salina, with participation by the United States of America;
Wf0ffAS, the Congress of the United States of America has duly
adopted House Document Number 642, the same being expressive of proposed
public works; and.
�'rfi'REAS, said document includes and approves flood protection
works for the City of Salina, Kansas; and
WHEREAS, before such approved plan canoe implemented, it will
be necessary for the Congress of the United States, of America to provide
for such implementation by -appropriations of money; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salina has heretofore duly expressed, by
resolution, its intention to provide funds for the acquisition of right-
of-way, providing for changes in highways, the construction of bridges,
and all other costs that might accrue to it under the proposed plan; and
WHEREAS;, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas,
deem it in the public interest that said flood protection works be con-
structed and
SO, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
of the City of Salina, Kansas:
That it earnestly solicits the Congress of the United States of
America to appropriate sufficient funds and monies and make the same
available to the corps of Engineers of the United States of America in
order that such agency may draft plans and specifications and perform all
work necessary and incidental thereto for the construction of such works;
and so that the City of Salina, Kansas, may be advised therefrom the
nature and extent of its duties in order to facilitate the implementa-
tion of such plan.
That the City Clerk of Salina, Kansas, be and he is hereby
directed to forward a copy of this Resolution to the Honorable Andrew F.
Schoeppbl, the Honorable Frank Carlson, the Honorabb..Wint Smith, the
Director of the Budget, and Major-General Samuel D. 9turgis of the Corps
of Engine ers, aforesaid. In
