RESOLUTION NUMBER 1909

A RESOLUTION determining necessity of and directing that the owner or owners
of certain lots construct, in compliance with plans and specifications of the
City Engineer,.a sidewalk, abutting said lots within 30 days of the adoption
and publication hereof and providing that in the event the owner or owners fail
to do so, that the City of Salina shall proceed ti cmnstruct or cause to be
constructed said sidewalk and that the total cost thereof shall be assessed
against such lot or lots on which such sidewalk shall abut as other special
assessments.
WHEREAS'., a sufficient petition has heretofore been filed praying for the
construction of certain sidewalks hereinafter described, AND NOW,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
That sidewalk, 5 feet in,width shall be constructed in accordance with
the accepted and approved standard plans and'specifications of the City En-
gineer of said City now on file in the office of said Engineer, which are here-
by incorporated herein:
West Parking of Maple Street from Bachtold
Avenue to the south line of Lot 30, Block 2,
Cloud Addition, abutting Lots 30, 312 322 332
34 and 19, Block 2, Cloud Addition, City of
Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
in said City and the construction tadreof is hereby determined to be necessary
improvement.
That the owner or owners of each of said lots described in the preceding
paragraphs hereof are hereby directed to cause said sidewalk to be so constr
ed immediately adjacent to their respective lot or lots within thirty days
from and after the publication hereof, and in compliance with said plans and
specifications, and in the event of the failure of any owner or owners of
said lots so to do, then the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas shall proceed to construct said sidewalk or cause the same to be con-
structed at the place or places where such owner or owners have so failed,
and that said Board shall cause the cost thereof to be assessed against the
lot or lots upon which said sidewalk abuts as a special assessment and that
the City Clerk of the City of Salina, Kansas, shall cause said special assess-
ment to be certified to the County Clerk of Saline County, Kansas, to be
collected according to law.
This resolutio# shall be in full force and effect from and after its adop-
tion and publication once in the official city paper.
