A RESOLUTION directing and ordering a public hearing on the advisability
of street, sewer and sidewalk improvements incertain districts and giving
notice of such hearings.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMNIISSSONZHSOF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS;:
That a public hearing shall -be had by the Board of Commissioners of
the City of Salina, Kansas, on the advisability of the following improve-
ments:
Streets to be paved are:
(1) Marc Street from the south line,of Albert to the
north line of Pentwood Drive.
(2) Lewis Avenue from the south line of Albert to the
north line of Wayne Avenue.
(3) Buckeye Avenue from the east line of Lewis to the
west line of Ohio.
(4.) $halimar Drive from the east line of Lewis to the
west line of Ohio.
(5) Pentwood Drive from the east line of Roach to the
west line of Lewis.
Sidewalks tote placed are on each side of the same street s to be
paved and:
(1). the east side of Roach from Albert to Wayne.
(2) the north side of Wayne from Roach to Ohio
(3) the w es t side of Ohio from Albert to Wayne
(4) the south side of Albert from Roach to Ohio
Sanitary sewers to be built are:
(1)d 8 inch line in north and.south easement in Block 1.
(2) 8 inch line in north and south easement in Block 2.

on the. 14th day of July 1959, at 4:00 o'clock P. M. in the Commission
Room in the City Hall as provided by Section 1� Chapter 99, Session Laws
of 1957, State of Kansas .
The City Clerk shall publish the following notice of such public
hearing in the official city paper in the manner provided by law.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE
IMPROVEMENT OF CERTAIN STREETS.
Notice is hereby given thatthe Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas, will meet for the purpose of holding a public hearing, as
provided by Section 4, Chapter 99, Session Laws of 1957, State of Kansas,
in the Commission Room of the City Hall on the 14th day of July, 1959 at
4:00 o'clock P. M., to consider the advisability of the following improve-
ments:
Street s to be paved are: -
(1) Marc Street from the south line of Albert to the
north line of Pentwood Drive.
(2) Lewis Avenue from the south line of Albert to the
north line of Wayne Avenue.
(3) Buckeye Avenue from the east line of Lewis to the
west line of Ohio.
(4) Shalimar Drive from the east line of Lewis to the
west line of Ohio.
(5) Pentwood Drive from the east line of Roach to the
west line of Lewis.
Sidewalks to be placed are on each side of the same streets to be
paved and
(1) the east side of Roach from Albert to Wayne
(2) the north side of Wayne from Roach to Ohio
(3) the west side of Ohio. from Albert to Wayne
(4) the south side of Albert from Roach to Ohio
Sanitary sewers to be built are:
(1) 8 inch line in north and south easement in Block 1.
(2) 8 inch line in north and south easement in Block 2.
(3) 8 inch line in east and west easement in Block 3.
(4) 8 inch line in north and south easement in Block 4.
(5) 8 inch line in north and south easement in Block 5.
(6) 8 inch line in north and south easement in Block 6.
The estimated or probable cost of such improvements is $159,901.68.
The extent of boundaries of the proposed improvement district to be
assessed is:
• That part of the City of Salim , Saline County, Kansas, described as
follows., to wit:
All pf Blocks 1, 2., 3, 4, 5 and 6 of Shalimar Plaza Addition
described as follows:
(1) Beginning at the east line of Roach and the south line
of Albert Avenue.
(2) thence east along the south line of Albert Avenue to
the west line of Ohio Street.
(3) thence south along the west line of Ohio Street to the
north line of Wayne Avenue.
(4) thence west along the north line of Wayne Avenue. to
the east line of Roach Str eet.
(5) thence north along the east line of Roach Street to
the point of beginning.

The proposed_.. apportionment of cost between the improvement district
and the City at large is as follows:
I. (a) City at large to pay for paving of intersections.
(b) City at large to pay for all excavation to bring
streets to grade.
(c) City Water Department to lay water main, including
all valves, hydrants and circulation mains.
(d), City at large to pay for storm sewers and appurtenances.
(e) City at large to pay for sidewalks in intersections.
II. (a) Private property to pay for concrete.paving except
intersections of streets.
(b) Private property to pay for excavation the thickness;
of the paving.
(c) Private.property to pay all costs of sanitary sewers,
including matholes, lampholes,and stub -outs under
pavement.
(d) Private property to pay $1.50 per front foot for each
lot or parcel for water =•. main.
(e) Private property to pay for stub -outs under pavement
for water services.
(f) Private proper ty to pay for concrete, sidewalks except
that placed in the intersections of str eets.
(g) The method of assessment shall be made on the square
foot basis. The assessment against each lot, piece or
parcel of land shall be made in direct proportion to its
fraction of he total area of property deemed benefited.
Adoption of Assessments.
The assessments for the improvement including utilities, with
accrued interest, shall be levied as a special tax upon the property
included therein concurrent with general property taxes and shall
be paid in twenty (20) equal annual installments.
The hearing may be adjourned from time to time until the Board of Commis-
sioners shall have made findings by resolution as tothe advisability of, the
improvement, the nature of the improvements;, the e=stimated cost, the bound-
aries of the improvemen district, the method of assessment and the appor-
tionment of the cost between the district and the City at large, all'as�
finally determined by the Board of Commission: rs, provided, the area of the
improvement district may be less than, but shall not exceed the area proposed
tote assessed as statedin this notice without giving notice and holding a
new hearing on the improvemett. All persons desiring to be heard with
reference to the proposed improvemett will be heard at this meeting.
