2208 Issue Temporary Notes PT-38M��
A RESOLUTION..authorizing.and..providing_for. the.iss.ance of Temporary Notes
of the City of.Salina,_.. Kansas,.in the_sum.of $66.,799-15.t6 pay a portion
of the cost of improving.certain streets in.the..City of Salina to be desig-
nated as Series PT -38 pending the -issuance of bonds -to pay the cost of said
work.
WHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law, contracts have
been let and partially performed for the construction of certain street
improvements in the City of Salina,..Kansas, , as_ provided.. -by. Resolution Numbers
2120,2111, 2125,2129, 2127.and Ordinance Numbers 6326.and 6333, allof which
resolutions and ordinances are.incorporated herein by reference as fully as
though set out here in full; . and .
WHEREAS, the total._dkatihAtddeoest_of_.said improvements is $102,536.50, and
WHEREAS, approved Estimate Number 1 now on file in the office of the City -
Clerk establishing that the Brown and Brown Construction CompaV has partially
performed the construction or contrast thereof, and is entitled to receive
the sum of $66,799.15 for such partial performance; and
WHEREAS.. pending the issuance and s ale of bonds to pay the cost of said
improvements it is necessary for said city to issue its temporary notes
to acquire funds to pay said contraotor'for such work; and.SO, NOW THEREFORR,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
That the foregoing preambles are hereb made a part of this resolution,
That pending the issuance and sale of bonds to pay t e cost of said improve-
ments, the City of 59i.na shall issue its temporary notes, date, August 25,
19599 bearing interest at a rate of Three and one-half per cent perannum,
maturing on December 1, 1960, in the sum of $66,799.15, being a sOn less
than the aggregate amount of bonds tobe and now unissued , as supported and
shown bjr approved estimate now on file and in denomination a a follows:
Number 1 $36,799.15
Numer 2 $30,000;00
That said temporary note shall a signed ,^ by the Mayor and shall be
attested -by the signature of the City Clerk and. the corporate. seal of the
City shall be affixed= thereto and that s aid temporary note shall be regis-
tered in the office of the City Clerk and in the office of the State Auditor
as required by l=*
That said note shallbe designated as Series PT -38 and each shall be
