RESOLUTION NUMBER 2638
A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ERECTING, CONSTRUCTING, FURNISHING AND
EQUIPPING OF A PUBLIC BUILDING TO BE USED FOR THE STORAGE OF EQUIPMENT OF THE
WATER AND SEWER DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS.
WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas, is authorized by G. S. 1961, Supp.
12-1736, to erect, construct, furnish and equip public buildings; and,
WHEREAS, it is deemed advisable, necessary and in the public interest that
a public building he provided for the storage of equipment used by the City
street and sewer departments;
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas;
Section 1. That a public .building approximately 120 feet long and 60 feet
wide to be located on property now owned by the City of Salina, Kansas, in the
400 Block on East Ash Street be erected, constructed, furnished and equipped at
an estimated cost of $65,000.00 for the use of the City street and sewer depart-
ments for the storage of equipment.
Section 2. That the City Engineer prepare and file with the City Clerk
plans and specifications for the above�igbuilding, and that the City Clerk be
authorized and directed to invite by public notice sealed bids for the
erection and construction of said building, all as provided by law, and upon
acceptance of properly qualified proposal the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized
to enter into a contract on behalf 6f of the City for the improvement
authorized by this resolution.

this 10th day of July, 1962.
