RESOLUTION NUMBER 2533
A RESOLUTION authorizing and ordering.certaai'street, sewer and water mains
and hydrant improvements, ordering preparation of plans and specifications, and
hhd estimated of costs.
WHEREAS, the public hearing on the advisability of the following improvements,
to -wit:
A. This improvement consists of the curbing, guttering and paving of:
(a) Quincy Avenue from the north -line of Lot 7, Block 6 Belmont
Addition to the north line of Magnolia;.Road.
(b) Magnolia Road .from. the west :line. of Quincy. -to the east
line of Ohio Street.
(c) Ohio Street from the south line of Oxford_ to the north
line of Magnolia Road.
(d) Saxwood Drive from the east line of Belmont Boulevard to
the north line of Magnolia Road.
(e) Montclair Drive from the east line of Quincy Avenue to
the west line of Belmont Boulevard and frmm the east line
of Belmont Boulevard to the north line of Magnolia Road.
(f) Belmont Boulevard from the south line of Mayfair Drive
to the north line of.Magnolia Road.
(g) _Mayfair.Drive_cfrom the..northi_line. of'.Lot=W0 ,-Block-.20,
Belmont Addition to the north line of Magnolia Road.
(h) Kensington Road from the north line'of'Lot 11, Block 20

of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, on the 13th day--of-June,-19-61.

WHEREAS, the ..Board .of -Commissioners_of. the: -City, -o£` -Salina, -<-Kansas -met in
the Commissioners Room at the City Hall on the 27th day of June; 1961, at 4:00
P. M. for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on the advisability of
said improvements;. said hearings. wer.e..fiinally.adjourned on the 27th day of
June, 1961, atlas provided by law.
WHEREAS, six (6) monthshave not elapsed since the final adjournment of said
lic hearings.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED -BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF --THE CITY OF
SALINA, KANSAS
Sedtion 1.
A. That the following improvements be and the same are hereby
authorized and ordered to be made in accordance with the findings of the
Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, upon the advisability
of the improvements, to -wit:
1. This improvement consists of the curbing, guttering and paving of:
(a) Quincy Avenue from the north line of Lot 7, Block 6
Belmont Addition to the north line of Magnolia Road."
(b) Magnolia Road from the west line of Quincy to the east
line of Ohio Street.
(c) Ohio Street from the south line of Oxford to the north
line of Magnolia Road.
(d) Saxwood Drive from the -east line of Belmont Boulevard to
the north line of Magnolia Road.
(e) Montclair Drive from the east line of Quincy Avenue to
the west line of Belmont Boulevard and from the east -line
of .Belmont Boulevard to the north`line.of:Magnolia Road.
(f) Belmont Boulevard from the south line of Mayfair Drive
to the north line of Magnolia Road.
(g) Mayfair Drive from the north line of'Lot 30, Block 20,
Belmont Addition to the north line of Magnolia Road.
(h) Kensington Road from the north line of Lot 11, Block 20
Belmont Addition to the north line of Magnolia Road.
(i) Wesley Avenue from the north line of Lot 9, Block 18
Belmont Addition to the west line of Edward Street.
(j) Edward Street from the north line of LaShalle to the
north line of Magnolia Road.
(k) Brentwood Drive from the south line of Roach Street to

(1) LaShalle Lane from the east line of Kensington to the
west line of Wesley, and from the east -line of Wesley
to the west line of Edward, and from the east line of
Edward to the west'line'of-Roach Street,'and from the
east line of Roach to the west line of Pearl Street.
2. Water main to be -installed in all the abgbe described streets
except Ohio Street, which has an existing 6" water main.
3. The sanitary sewer to serve'all lots and parcels within the
benefit district.
B. The estimated or probable cost of such improvements is $445,786.55.
C. The extent or boundaries of the proposed improvement district to
be assessed is:

The Proposed apportionment of cost between the improvement district and the
City at large is as follows:
1. Costs chargeable:to private property: .
(1) All of sanitary sewers including lift stations.
(2) Stub outs under pavements for water and sanitary sewers.__
(3) Storm Sewer inlets which are contingent.to pavement.
including connection pipes to manholes.
(4) 9076 of all_.other;such pavements:,_ grading., sidewalks and,
water mains, that -serve lots.:
II. Chargeable to city at large:
(1) Extra width of pavement in excess of 40 feet face to face.
(2) Storm. Sewers, except.(3):,above.
(3) Fire hydrants.
(4) Water circulation mains..
(5) 10% of all other such pavements, grading, sidewalks and
water mains that serve lots.
III. The assessments with accrued interest shall be levied as a
special tax upon the property included therein concurrent_
with the general property taxes and shall be payable in
Twenty (20) equal annual installments.
IV. The method of assessment shall be made on the square foot
basis, the assessment against each lot, piece or pracel of
land shall be made in direct proporation to its fraction of
the total area of property deemed benefited..
Section 2. That the City Engineer be and he is hereby directed and ordered
to prepare plans and specifications, and estimates-af the .cost of said
improvements by the 25th day._of July.,: 1961.
Section 3. That the, said improvements- shall not. be commenced if within
twenty (20) days after publication of the resolution, written protes.ts..by both
fifty-one (51) per cent or more of the resident owners of record of property
within the improvement district- and- the, owners of record- of more than an o�half
of the total area of such district, are.filed with the City Clerk.
Adopted and approved by the Board of Commissioners of- tthe- C_-ity, of, Salina,
Kansas, in regular session, this 11th day of July, 1961.
