A RESOLUTION authorizing and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes of the
City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $169,566..30 to pay a portion of the cost of
improving certain streets in the City of Salina to be designated as Series PT -54
pending the issuance of bonds to pay the cost of.said work.
WHEREAS, pursuant to proceedings duly had according to law, contracts have been
let and partially performed for the construction of certain street improvements
in the City of Salina, Kansas,,as provided by Resolution Numbers 2343, 2351, 2352,
2353, 2337, 2338, 2334, 2347, 2332, 2344, 2335, 2350, 2336, 2348, 2354, 2362,
2390, 2393, 2376, 2392, 2395, 2374,:2386, 2385, 2391, 2372, 2373, 2389, 2388,
2387, 2364, 2375, 2377, 2345, 2342, 2340, 2341, 2339, 2401, 2399.and Ordinance
Numbers 6473 and 6481-ill'of which -resolutions and'ordinances are incorporated
herein by reference as fully as though set out here in full; and
WHEREAS, the total estimate cost of said improvements is $430,790.00; and
WHEREAS,.temporary notes.numbered l,to 9 inclusive for the sum total of $277,163.01
HAVE BEEN AUTHORIZED, ISSUED AND REGISTERED: AND
WHEREAS, approved estimate number 2 is now on file in the Office of the. City Clerk
establishing that the 0. D. Wilmoth Construction Company has partially performed
the construction of contract thereof, and is entitled -to receive the sum of
$169,566.30 for such partial performance; and
WHEREAS, pending the issuance and sale of bonds to pay the cost of said
improvements it is.necessary for said city to issue.its.temporary notes to
acquire funds to pay said contractor.for such work; and SO NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED By the Board of Commissioners;of_the City of Salina, Kansas:
That the foregoing preambles are hereby_made_a part of this resolution. That
pending the issuance and sale of bonds to pay the cost of said improvements, the
City of Salina shall issue its temporary notes, dated June 6, 1961 bearing
interest at a rate of 32 per cent per annum, maturing on December 1, 1961, in
the sum of $169,566.00 being a sum less than the aggregate amount:.. of bonds to:.be
and now unissued as supported and shown by the approved estimate now on file and
in denomination as follows:
Number 10: $19,566.30
Number ll: $25,000.00
Number 12: $25,000.00
Number 13: $25,000.00
Number 14: $25,000.00
Number 15: $25,000.00
Number 16: $25,000.00
That said temporary notes shall be signed by the Mayor and shall be
attested by the signature of the City Clerk and the corporate seal of the City
shall be affixed thereto and that said temporary notes shall be registered in
the..Offi'ce of the City_Clerk and in the Office of the State Auditor, as required
by law.
That said notes &a.11 be designated as Series PT -54 and each shall be in .the
form and contain recitals substantially as follows, to -wit:
