2798 Advisability Improvements Riker Manor Addition256 RESOLUTION NUMBER 2798 I(First published in The Salina.Journal , 1964) II A RESOLUTION determining the advisability of certain sidewalk, street, sewer, water mains and hydrant imprgyements, estimating the cost thereof, defining the boundries of the improvement -A istrict, method of assessment, and apportioning the cost between the improvement district and the City at Large. WHEREAS, the public hearing on the advisability of the following improve- ments to -wit: 1. The curbing, guttering, and concrete paving of: y (a) Brookwood Lane from the east line of Beechwood Road Eastoto the City ,Limits. (b) Crestwood Road from the :north line of Brookwood Lane to the south line of Northwood Lane. (c) Driftwood Road from the north line of Brookwood Lane to the south line of Northwood Lane. 2. Water Mains to.,.be installed in the above described streets. 3. 4' Curb Sidewalks abutting all above described streets. 4. A Sanitary Sewer to serve Blocks 13 and 14, Riker Manor Addition. was held as provided by Resolution Number 2793 adopted and approved by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, on the 14 day of September, 1964. WHEREAS, notice of public hearing on the advisability of the said improve- ments has been published, in the Salina Journal the official city newspaper, on the 18 d-pyyof September, 1964 and the 25 day of September , 1964 as provided by said Resolution and G. S. 1961, Supp. Section 12-6a01 to 12-6al8, State of Kansas. WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, met in the Commissioners Room at the City Hall on the 5 day of October, 1964 at 4:00 o'clock P.M. for the purpose of conducting a public heating on the advisability of said improvement, said hearing,were finally adjourned on Ahe 5 day of October, 1964, all as provided by law. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS: Section 1. That the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas hereby finds and finally determines that: It is advisable to make the following improvements, to -wit: 1. The curbing, guttering, and concrete paving of: (a) Brookwood Lane from the east line of Beechwood Road East to the City Limits. (b) Crestwood Road from the north line of Brookwood Lane to the south line of Northwood Lane. (c) Driftwood Road from the north line of Brookwood Lane to the south line of Northwood Lane. 2. Water Mains to be installed in the above described streets. 3. 4' Curb Sidewalks abutting all above described streets. 4. A Sanitary Sewer to serve Blocks 13 and 14, Riker Manor Addition. The extent or boundaries of the proposed improvement district to be assessed is: 1 I- I 1 257,. That partcof the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, described as follows to -wit: (1) Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 1, Block 14, Riker Ma -nor Addition. (2) Thence east along the north line 66 Block 14,.to the east line of Edgewood Road. (3) Thence south along the east line of Edgewood Road to the south lin( of Brookwood Lane. (4) Thence west along the south line of Brookwood Lane to the.horth south centerline of Block 14 extended. (5) Thence south along said extension to a point 200 feet south of the centerline.of Brookwood Lane. (6) Thence west along a line 200*et south of the centerline of Brookwood Lane to east line of. Beechwood Road. (7) Thence north along the east line of Beechwood Road to the center- line,,of Lot 4, Block 12, Riker Manor Addition. (8) Thence east along the centerline of Lot 4, Block 12, Riker Manor Addition to the east line of said lot. (9) Thence north along the west line of Lots 8,�,9, 10, 11, Block -12, to the northwest corner of Lot 8, Block 12. (10) Thence east along the southeline of Northwood Lane to the point of beginning. The estimated :or probable cost of such improvements is $72,350.30. The proposed apportionment of cost between the improvement district and the City at Large is as follows: 1. Costs chargeable to Private Property in the amount of $62,178.60. 2. Costs chargeable to the City at Large in the amount of $10,171.70 3. The assessment with accrued interest shall be levied -as a speiial tax upon the property included therein concurrent with the general propertyy taxes shall be payable in ten (10) equal annual installments. 4. The amount of assessment to each lot or parcel of ground shall be proportioned by the square foot method. Adjusted to determine building line front will be made on irregular or odd shaped lots. Section 2. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the public hearing on the advis- ability of the improvement.det out in Section 1 hereof, is hereby finally adjourned.
