A RESOLUTION authorizing and ordering certain sanitary sewer and water
main improvements, ordering preparation of plans and specifications, and the
estimate of costs.
WHEREAS, the public hearing on the advisability of the following improve-
ments,,to-wit:
Sanitary sewer main to serve the area described as follows:
All of Lots 8, 9, 10 and 11, the north 125 feet of the
east 1/2 of Lot 3, the north 125 feet -of Lot 4, and the
north 276.0 feet of Lots 6 -and 7, all in,Plat of White Acres
-and Lotsl and 16 in Idlewild addition all in Section 7,
Township 14 South, Range 2, West of the 6th P.M., Saline County,
Kansas.
Water main to serve Lots 8, 9, 10, and 11, the north 125
feet of the east 1/2 of Lot 3, and the north 125 feet of
Lot 4, all in. Plat of White Acres, all in,.Section 7, Township
14 South,. Range 2, West of the 6th P.M., Saline County, Kansas.
was held as provided by Resolution Number 2971 adopted and approved by the
Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, on the'29th day of
January,. 1968.
WHEREAS, notice of public hearing on the advisability of the said
improvements has been published in The Salina Journal, the official city
newspaper; on the 1st day of February, 196&, -and the 8th day of February;
1968,,as provided by said Resolution and K. S. A..Sections 12-6a01 to
12-6al8.
WHEREAS, the Board of..Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, met
in the Commissioners Room at City Hall on the 12th day of February, 1968
at 4:00 o'clock,P..M. for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on the
advisability of said improvements, said hearings were finally adjourned on
the 12th day of February, 1968,.all as provided by law.
WHEREAS, six (6) months have not elapsed since the final adjournment
of said public hearings.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY
OF SALINA, KANSAS:
Section 1. That the following improvements be and the same are hereby
authorized and ordered to be made in accordance with the findings of the Board
of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, upon the advisability of the
improvements, to -wit:
Sanitary sewer main to serve the area described as follows:
All of Lots 8, 9, 10, and 11, the north 125 feet of the
east 1/2 of Lot 3, the north 125 feet of Lot 4, and the
north 276..0 feet of Lots 6 and 7, all in,Plat of White Acres
and Lots 1 and 16 in Idlewild Addition all in Section 7,
Township 14 South, Range 2,. West of the 6th.P.M., Saline
County, Kansas.
Water main to serve Lots 8, 9, 10, and 11, the north 125
feet of the east 1/2 of Lot 3, and the north 125 feet of
Lot 4, all in Plat of White Acres, all in Section 7, Township
14'South, Range 2,- West of the 6th P.M., Saline County, Kansas.
The extent or boundaries of the proposed improvement district to be
assessed is:
All of Lots 8, 9, 10, and 11, the north 125 feet of the
east 1/2 of Lot 3, the north 125 feet of Lot 4, and the
north 276..0 feet of Lots 6 and 7, all in. Plat of White Acres
and Lots 1 and 16 in Idlewild Addition, all in Section 7,
Township f4 South, Range 2, West of the 6th P.M., Saline
County, Kansas.
The estimated or probable cost of such improvements is $49,544.00.

The proposed apportionment of cost betweentthe improvement district and the
City at Large is as follows:
1. Costs chargeable to Private Property in the amount.of $27,998.75.
2. Costs chargeable to the City at Large in the amount of $21,545.25.
3. The assessment with accrued interest shall be levied as a special
tax upon the proPerty included therein concurrent with the general
property taxes and shall be payable in Ten'(10) equal annual installment
4. The amount of assessment to each lot or parcel of ground shall be propor
tioned on the square foot basis.
Section 2. That the City Engineer be and he is hereby directed and ordered
to prepare plans and specifications,.and estimates of the cost of said improve-
ments;by the 4th day of March, 1968.
Section 3. That the said improvements shall not be commenced if within twen
(20) days after publication -of -the -resolution, written,protests.by.both.fifty-one
(51) per cent or-more;of the resident.owners of record.of property within the .
improvement district and the owners of record'of more than one-half of the total
area of such district, are filed with the City Clerk.
Adopted and approved by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas,. in regular session this 19th day of February, 1968.
