A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF THE SALINA-SALINE COUNTY CIVI
DEFENSE COUNCIL, AMENDING SEC. 3(a)'and (b) OF RESOLUTION NO. 2608, AND REPEALING
SAID ORIGINAL SECTION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY'OF THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS:,
Section 1. That Resolution No. 2608 of the City of Salina, Kansas, adopted
April 24, 1962, ;be amended by amending Rec. 3(a) and (b), which are hereby amende
to read as follows:
Sec. 3. Organization of Council.
(a). The Salina -Saline County Civil Defense Council shall consist of fj
members to be.selected as follows:
(1). The Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas,
shall appoint two members, at least one of which shall be
a City Commissioner. The City Commission member shall be
appointed annually and the other member for a term of three
years.
(2). The Board of Commissioners of Saline County shall appoint
two members, at least one of which shall be a County Com-
missioner. The County Commissioner shall be appointed ann-
ually and the other member for a term of three years.
(3) The four members appointed as above provided shall appoint
a fifth member who shall serve for a term of two years. If
the four members are unable to agree upon a fifth member,
then the Probate Judge of Saline County shall appoint the
fifth member by January 30th.
(b). The Council shall organize annually on or before January 20th
of each year. In the event of the resignation or death of
any member of the council, his position shall be filled by
the original appointing body. Section 2. Sec. 3(a) and
(b) -of Resolution No. 2608 are hereby repealed.
This resolution shall be in force from and after its adoption and ratificatic
by the Board of Commissioners of Saline County, Kansas.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and approved by the Mayor this 27th
day of November, 1967.
