WHEREAS, Admiral Howard Yeager, relying largely on his own resources,
received his.ba.sic education in .the City of Salina, Kansas, where he was an out-
P.tanding.student.leader and athlete; and
WHEREAS.,.Admiral Yeager served his country in time of war with great bravery
and in:time.of, peace with:,.great ability; and, 7_
WHEREAS, death came to Admiral Yeager while in the hermmc act of saving his
invalid wife from fire.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY'OF THE CITY'OF.SALINA,
KANSAS.:
Section 1. That the City of Salina honor the memory of this selfless public
servant whose magnificient career brought great credit to the community he was
proud to call his home and whose service to his country was an example of
heroism and devotion beyond that of ordinary man.
Section 2. That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to communicate the
contents of this Resolution to the family of Admiral Howard Yeager.
Adopted by.the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, this 13th
day of March, 1967.
