A RESOLUTION directing and ordering a public hearing on the advisability
of curb, gutter, and paving improvements in certain districts and giving notice
of such hearing.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas:
That a public hearing shall be had by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas, on the advisability of the following improvements:
Curb, gutter, and paving with concrete, 33 feet wide from back
of curb to back of curb, Hamilton Avenue, from the center line
of Third Street to the West line of Fourth Street.
on the 22nd day of August, 1966, at 4:00 o'clock P. M. -in the Commission Room
in the City Hall as provided by K. S. A. Sections 12-6a01 to 12-6al8;'State of
Kansas.
The City Clerk shall publish the following notice of such public hearing in
the official city newspaper in the manner provided by law.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ADVISABILITYOF CERTAIN CURBING,
GUTTERING AND PAVEMENT IMPROVEMENTS
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas, will meet for the purpose of holding a public hearing, as
provided by K. S. A. Sections 12-6a01 to 12-6al8, State of Kansas, in the
Commission Room'of the City Hall on the 22nd day of August, 1966, at 4:00
o'clock P. M. to consider the advisability of the following improvements.
Curb, gutter, and paving with concrete, 33 -feet wide from back
of curb to back of curb,.Hamilton Avenue, from the center line
of Third Street to the West line -;of Fourth Street.
The extent or boundaries of the proposes improvement district, to be
assessed is:
That part of the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, described as
follows,.to-wit:
Lots 1 to 10 inclusive in Block 17 and Lots 11 to 20 inclusive:,
in Block 8, all in Episcopal Military Institute Addition to
the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
The estimated or probable cost of such improvements is $6,275.00.
The proposed apportionment of cost between the improvement district and
the City at Large is as follows:
1. Costs chargeable to Private Property in the amount of $4,493.00.
2.. Costs chargeable to the City at Large in the amount of $1,782.00.
3. The assessment with accrued interest shall be levied as a special
tax upon the property included therein concurrent with the general
property taxes and shall be payable in ten (10) equal annual
installments.
4. The amount of assessment to each lot or parcel of ground shall be
proportioned on the square footage basis.

The hearing may be adjourned from time to time until the Board of
Commissioners shall have made findings by resolution as to the advisability of
the improvement, -'the nature of the improvement, the estimated cost, the boundar
of the improvement district, the method of assessment and the apportionment of
the cost between the District and the City at Large, all as finally determined.
by the Board of Commissioners, provided, the area of the improvement district
may be less than,..but shall not exceed the area proposed to be assessed as
stated in this notice without giving notice and holding a new hearing on the
improvement. All persons desiring to be heard with reference to the proposed
improvement will be heard at this meeting.
