A RESOLUTION directing and ordering a public hearing on the advisability of
street, sewer and water main improvements in certain districts and giving notice
of such hearing.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS of the City of Salina, Kansas:
.That a public hearing shall be had by the Board of Commissioners of the
City of Salina, Kansas, on the advisability of the following improvements:
Paving, sewer and water main improvements:
On Ash Street from Seventh Street to Ninth Street;
On Ninth Street from Ash Street to E1m'Street;
On Elm Street from.Ninth Street to Seventh Street;
On Seventh Street from Elm Street to Ash Street.
on the 2nd day of May, 1966, at 4:00 o'clock P. M. in the Commission Room in the
City Hall as provided by K.S.A. Sections 12-6a01 to 12-6al8, State of Kansas.
The City Clerk shall publish the following notice of such public hearing in
the official city newspaper in the manner provided by law.
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON THE'ADVISABILITY OF CERTAIN
STREET, SEWER AND WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS.
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas, will meet for the Purpose of holding a public hearing, as
provided by K. S. A.,Sections 12-6a01 to 12-6a18 State of Kansas, in the Commis-
sion Room "of, the -:City Hall 6n`the'.2nd,day of M? -.1966, at_ 4:00_.o'_clock P. M.
to consider the advisability of the,=:following improvements.
Paving, sewer and water main improvements:
On Ash Street -from Seventh Street to Ninth Street;
On Ninth Street from Ash Street to Elm Street;
On Elm Street from Ninth Street to Seventh Street;
On Seventh Street from Elm Street to Ash Street.
The extent or boundaries of the proposes improvement district to be assess
is:
That part of the City of Salina, and Saline County, Kansas, described as
follows, to -wit:
Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 Church Park Addition and Lots 11 and 12 in
Gower and Ven Fleet's Sub -division of a part of Church Park all in
Original Townsite of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, Replat of Bishop Reserve in
Bishop's Addition of::<.Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
The estimated or probable cost of such improvements is $170,783.00.
The proposed apportionment of cost between the improvement district and the
City at Large is as follows:
1. Costs chargeable to Private Property in the amount of $42,695.75.
2. Costs chargeable to the City at Large in the amount of $128,087.25.
3. The assessment with accrued interest shall be levied as a special
tax upon the property included therein concurrent with the general
property taxes and shall be payable in ten (10) equal annual
installments.

4. The amount of assessment to each lot or parcel of ground shall
be on a square footage basis.
The hearing may be adjourned from time to time until the Board of Commis
sioners shall have made findings by resolution as to the advisability -of the
improvement, the nature of the improvement, the estimated cost, the boundaries of
improvement district, the method of assessment and the apportionment of the cost
between the district and the City at Large, all as finally determined by the
Board of Commissioners, provided, the area of the improvement district may be
less than, but shall not exceed the area proposed to be assessed as stated in
this notice without giving notice and holding a new hearing on the improvement.
All persons desiring to be heard with reference to the proposed improvement will
be heard at this meeting.
