AIRESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE QUITCLAIM OF CERTAIN LAND TO UNION PACIFIC
RAILROAD COMPANY.
WHEREAS, Union Pacific Railroad Company has now tendered to City of Salina,
in the State of Kansas, and the council of the City of Salina, a quitclaim deed,
identified in the records of said Railroad Company as C.D. No. 48854, whereby
the City of Salina, in the State of Kansas, and the Council of the City of
Salina, quitclaim to said Union Pacific Railroad Company the following described
real estate situate in the County of Saline, State of Kansas, to wit:
A TRACT OF LAND BEING A PART OF THE NORTHEAST QUARTER
OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER (NEkSE'k) OF SECTION 6, TOWN-
SHIP 14 SOUTH, RANGE 2 WEST OF THE SIXTH PRINCIPAL
MERIDIAN, IN SALINE COUNTY, KANSAS, BOUNDED AND DES
CRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
Beginning at the southeast corner of said Northeast
Quarter of the Southeast Quarter (NEkSE'k);
thence north 120 feet;
thence southwesterly along a line parallel with the
center line of the main track of Union Pacific Railroad Company
370 feet;
thence east 320 feet to the place of beginning.
Also, a parcel of land in the Southeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter
(SEkSE'k) of Section 6, Township 14 South, Range 2 West of the Sixth Principal
Meridian, in Saline County, Kansas, and being all that part of the right of way
of Union Pacific Railroad Company, which right of way is 200.0 feet in width,
measured at right angles, on each side of the center line of the main track of
said Railroad Company as now constructed and operated, which lies within the area
bounded as follows:
Beginning at a point 20 feet west of and 792 feet north of the -
southeast corner of said Section 6;
thence northwesterly to a point 45 feet west of.and 897 feet
north of said southeast corner of Section 6;
thence westerly 190 feet to a point 235 feet west of and 897 feet
north of said southeast corner of Section 6;
thence northwesterly 411.0 feet;
thence northeasterly 100 feet to a point 396 feet west of and
approximately 1309 feet north of said southeast corner of Section 6;
thence southeasterly 343 feet to a point 169 feet west of and
997 feet north of said southeast corner of Section 6;
thence easterly 124 feet to a point 45 feet west of and 997
feet north of said southeast corner of Section 6;
thence northeasterly to a point 20 feet west of and 1122 feet
north of said southeast corner of Section 6;
thence southerly 330 feet to the place of beginning.
It being the intention to hereby convey all those portions of those two
certain tracts of land heretofore conveyed by Minnie A. Haley, Isaac J. Haley and
Virginia M. Haley to the City of Salina, by warranty deed dated October 20, 1956,
which lie northwesterly of a line parallel with and 200.0 feet distant south-
easterly, measured at right angles, from the center line of the .main tract of
Union Pacific Railroad Company as now constructed and operated.
WHEREAS, it appears to the best interest of the City of Salina, in the State
of Kansas, and is conducive to the interests of the inhabitants of said City to
quitclaim to Union Pacific Railroad Company the land hereinbefore described;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALINA, IN THE STATE
OF KANSAS: `

That the City of Salina, in, --.the State of Kansas, and the Council of the City
of Salina, execute and deliver to Union Pacific Railroad Company a quitclaim
deed conveying all interest which the City of Salina, inx:-the State of Kansas, and
the Council of the City of Salina may have in and to the land hereinbefore des-
cribed; and that the Mayor of the City of Salina, in the State of Kansas, is
hereby authorized, empowered and directed to execute said quit,.claim=deed on be-
half of the City of Salina, in the State of Kansas, and the Council of the City
of Salina, and that it be duly attested by the City Clerk of the City of Salina,
in the State of Kansas.
Adopted and-approv"ed at Salina, Kansas, this 15th day of November,
1965.
