WHEREAS, Miss Toy Caldwell, a resident of the City of Salina,
Kansas, because of her talent, intelligence and poise, has earned
the title of Miss Black Kansas; and
WHEREAS, she will be representing the State.of Kansas at the
Miss Black America Pageant in New York's Madison Square Garden on
Friday, August 27, 1971.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY.TFIE GOVERNING BODY OF THE
CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS:
(1). That the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
.Kansas, on behalf of all of the citizens of Salina, hereby expresses
its congratulations to Miss Toy Caldwell on her attainment of the
title of Miss Black Kansas, and extends to her the best wishes of
all of the citizens of Salina for success in her endeavors to
attain the title of Miss Black America at the Miss Black America
Pageant in New York City on Friday, August 27, 1971.
(2). That the City Clerk is hereby instructed to spread the
contents of this resolution on the official records of the City _
of Salina, and to forward a copy of the same to Miss Toy Caldwell.
Adopted by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas,
and approved by the Mayor this 23rd day of August, 1971.
