RESOLUTION NUMBER 3050
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT ADEQUATE LIGHTING FACILITIES BE INSTALLED AT
THE INTERSECTIONS40F 1-70 AND NORTH OHIO STREET AND I-35 AND SCHILLING ROAD.
WHEREAS, a traffic hazard exists at the Interchanges of 1-70 and North
Ohio Street and 1-35'and Schilling Road due to the lack of any lighting
facilities at these intersections; and
WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, is vitally
concerned in'the prevention of automobile accidents near the access to its
City from the interstate highway system; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1.- That the City Manager be instructedand directed to appraise
the Kansas State Highway Commission -and the Bureau of Public Roads of the
hazardous conditions which now exist at the Interchanges of 1-70 and North
Ohio Street qnd-135 and -Schilling Road.
Section 2. That the Bureau of Public Roads and the State Highway
Commission of Kansas be urged to take whatever action may be necessary to
secure and provide -adequate lighting for these intersections so as to
eliminate the'traffic-hazards which now exist at these interchanges.
Section 3. The City Clerk of the -City of Salina, Kansas, be directed
to send copies~of this resolution to all interested parties.
Adopted by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, and signed
by the Mayor this 30th day -of March, 1970.
