RESOLUTION NUMBER 3231

A RESOLUTION determining the advisability of curbing, guttering, paving
grading, water system, sanitary sewer system, and storm sewer improvements,
estimating the cost thereof, defining the boundaries of the improvement district,
method of assessment, and apportioning the cost between the improvement district
and the City -at -large.
WHEREAS, the public hearing on the advisability of the following
improvements,:. -to -wit:
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of APPLEWOOD LANE
from the east line of Fairdale Road to the west end of
Applewood Lane cul-de-sac.
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of BEECHWOOD ROAD
from the south line of Brookwood Lane to the south line
of Applewood Lane.
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of FAIRDALE ROAD
from the south line of Brookwood Lane to the south line
of Applewood Lane.
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of NORTHWOOD LANE
from the east line of Fairdale Road to the south 1-ine of
Glen Avenue.
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of BRET AVENUE
from the north line of Bonnie Ridge Addition to the south
line of Edward Street.
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of EDWARD STREET
from the southwest line of Bret Avenue to the north line
of Twin Oaks Sub -division.
Water systems.
Sanitary sewer systems.

was held as provided by Resolution Number 3229, adopted and approved by the Board
of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas, on the 14th day of April, 1975.
WHEREAS, notice of public hearing on the advisability of said
improvements has been published in The Salina Journal, the official city newspaper
on the 16th day of April, 1975, and the 23rd day of April, 1975, as provided by
said Resolution and K.: S. A. Sections 12-6a01 to 12-6a18.
WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas
met in the Commissioners' Room, in the City -County Building on the 28th day of
April, 1975, at 7:00 P.M. for the purpose of conducting a public hearing on the
advisability of said improvements, said hearing was finally adjourned on the
28th day of April, 1975, as provided by law, NOW, THEREFORE '
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina,
Kansas, hereby finds and finally determines that:
It is advisable to make the following improvements, to -wit:
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading of APPLEWOOD LANE
from the east line of Fairdale Road to the west end of
Applewood Lane cul-de-sac.
Curbing, guttering, paving and grading BEECHWOOD ROAD
from the South :Line of Brookwood Lane to the south line
of Applewood'Lane.

Section 2. The extent or boundaries of the improvement district to be
assessed is:
That part of the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas,
described as follows, to -wit:
The East 12.34 feet of Lot 3, and all of Lots 4
through 22, Block 1; Lots 1 through 12, Block 3; the
North 100 feet of Block 4; all of Lots 1, 2, and the
West 69.24 feet of Lot 3, and all of Lots 7 and 8
and the West 69.14 feet of Lot 9, Block 6; Lots 1
through_ 39, Block 16; Lots 1 through 6, Block 17;

Lots through 7, Block 18; Lots 1 through 26,
Block 19, all in Georgetown Addition to the City
of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
Lots 1, 2, 3, and the North 40 feet of Lot 4,
Block 14; and the South 40 feet of Lot 4 and all
of Lots 5, 6, 7, Block 5, Riker Manor Addition
to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
The East 20.5 feet of Lot 18 and all of Lots 19, 20,
21, 22, 23, Block 2; the East 24.8 feet of Lot 3 and
all of Lots 4 through 17, Block 5; the East 16.8 feet
of Lot 5, and all of Lots 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Block 6;
Lot 1, Block 7; Lots 1 through 5, Block 8; Lots 1
through 9, Block 9; all in Twin Oaks Sub -division
to the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas.
-Section 3. The estimated or probable cost of such improvement is
$413,798.00.
Section 4, The proposed apportionment of cost between the improvement
district and the City -at -large is as follows:
1. Costs chargeable to Private Property in the amount of $376,420.00,
2. Costs chargeable to the City -at -large in the amount of $37,378.00.

Section 5. The assessment with accrued interest to be levied as a
special assessment tax upon the property included within the benefit district,
concurrent with the general.property tax and shall be payable in ten (10) equal
annual installments.
Section 6. The method of assessment shall be based on the front
footage of each lot or parcel of land and without regard to the buildings or
improvement of the land.
Section 7. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the public hearing on the
advisability of the improvement set out in Section 1 hereof, is hereby finally
adjourned.
Adopted and approved by the Board of Commissioners of the City of
Salina, Kansas, in Regular Session this 28th day of April, 1975•
