RESOLUTION NUMBER 08-6552
A RESOLUTION CONSENTING TO THE LEVY OF 2.877 MILLS ON EACH
DOLLAR OF ASSESSED TANGIBLE VALUATION ON THE PROPERTY WITHIN THE
CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS FOR THE YEAR 2008 FOR USE BY THE SALINA AIRPORT
AUTHORITY IN 2009 FOR THE PURPOSE OF MAKING AIRFIELD CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS AND G.O. BOND DEBT SERVICE AT THE SALINA MUNICIPAL
AIRPORT AND SALINA AIRPORT INDUSTRIAL CENTER.
WHEREAS, on August 20, 2008 the Salina Airport Authority Board of Directors adopted
a resolution determining it necessary to levy a tax of 2.877 mills for 2008 for the purpose of making
airfield capital improvements, and G.O. Bond Debt Service at the Salina Municipal Airport and Salina
Airport Industrial Center during 2009; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with K. S.A. 27-322(a), the Salina Airport Authority Board of
Directors has requested the consent of the Governing Body of the City of Salina to such tax levy, SO
NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That pursuant to K.S.A. 27-322(a), the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas consents to the levy of a tax of 2.877 mills on each dollar of assessed valuation of the property
within the City of Salina, Kansas for the year 2008 for the purpose of making capital improvements and
G.O. Bond debt service requirements during its 2009 budget year as outlined in the August20, 2008
resolution of the Salina Airport Authority Board of Directors.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 25th day of August,
2008.
