RESOLUTION NUMBER 08-6540
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE DEDICATION OF PUBLIC STREET RIGHT-
OF-WAY AND ESTABLISHING THE NAME OF A NEW PUBLIC STREET WITHIN THE
CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS.
WHEREAS, a Deed of Dedication transferring ownership of sixty (60) foot by four
hundred seventy-five (475) foot strip of land in Block Twenty -Four (24) of the Schilling Subdivision in
the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas, from the Salina Airport Authority to the City of Salina was
recorded on August 1, 1977 at Vol. 317 Page 548 in the office of the Saline County Register of Deeds,
and
WHEREAS, the .property owners abutting the asphalt roadway located within this sixty
(60) foot by four hundred seventy-five (475) foot strip of land have requested that this roadway become
a public street with a street name of Copper Court; and
WHEREAS, there are no similarly sounding or similarly spelled street names in the city
and the requested name of Copper Court would not create confusion or impact public safety; and
WHEREAS, this request was considered by the Salina Planning Commission on July 1,
2008 and they recommended approval of the new street name. SO NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the offered dedication of this sixty (60) foot by four hundred seventy-five
(475) foot strip of land for public ownership and public street maintenance purposes is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That this dead end public street shall henceforth be shown as Copper Court on
the Official Street Map of the city.
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from its adoption.
Section 4. That this resolution shall be filed in the office of the Saline County Register of
Deeds as a correction to the recorded plat of the Schilling Subdivision.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 21s` day of July
2008.
