Board of Commissioners met in regular session, Monday April
17th, 1922. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Dyar the roll _
was called and Commissioners Campbell, Dyar and Hargett and Act-
ing City Attorney Norris responded. City Attorney Buziek absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 10th19 1922,
were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriations for miscellaneous purposes."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell the ordinance was read and
adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called
and the following vote was had; Ayes: Campbell, Dyar and Hargett
(3) Nays: (0) The Mayor approved the same and is numbered 2488.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled ; "An
ordinance regulating the construction of sidewalks in the City of
Salina, Kansas•and amending Section 3 of Ordinance No. 2407 of the
City of Salina, Kansas and repealing said original section."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett referred to Board of Com-
missioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance defining a certain public nuisance, and providing for the
abatement thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Campbell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An
ordinance providing for the condemnation and appropriation of a
certain tract and parcel of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas
for the purpose of opening and extending Faulkner Street in said
City from the north line of said Faulkner Street north to the south
line of Iron Avenue in said City, and providing for the appointment
of appraisers therefor."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A resolution reject-
ing all bids received on or before March 6th, 1922, for the paint-
ing of the Grand Stand in Kenwood Park."
On motion of Commissioner Cambell same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A
resolution authorizing the Mayor and City Clerk of said City to
execute Baseball agreement."
On motion of Commissioner Hargett same was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell it was decided that the
City would pay for papers for the use of the Police Department and
Fire Department, one Kansas City paper for each Department also the
City dailies.
A request was received for a Band Concert to be given at the
opening of the new Farmers Union Building, April 29th, 1922.
On motion of Commissioner Hargett the leader of the Salina
Municipal Band was instructed to give the concert as requested.
A petition signed by John Kristen and nine others was received,
asking for the construction of a sewer on Railroad Street from State
Street to Marietta Street. Referred to City Engineer.
A petition signed by J. 11111. Lee and 53 others was received ask-
ing for the curbing, guttering and paving of Elm Street from the east
approach of Elm Street Bridge to Ohio Street. Referred to City Eng.

On motion of Commissioner Campbell, F. S. Dyar was elected
for the office of Mayor and Chairman of the Board of Commissioners
of the City of Salina, Kansas for the ensuing year and Commission-
er elected as Acting Mayor and Acting Chairman of the Board of Com-
missioners for the ensuing year.
On motion of Commissioner Campbell, Board of Commissioners ad-
journed until Thursday, April 20th, 1922 at 7:30 P. M.
