08-10437 Vehicle Rescue Service Fee(Publishing in the Salina Journal on February 62008) ORDINANCE NUMBER 08-10437 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 14 OF THE SALINA CODE BY ADDITION SECTION 14-6 PERTAINING TO VEHICLE RESCUE SERVICE FEE. w BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the city of Salina, Kansas: A Section 1. That Chapter 14 of the Salina Code is hereby amended by adding the following ' section to be numbered Section 14-6: U "Sec. 14-6. Vehicle Rescue Service fee. The non-resident driver of a motor vehicle involved in a vehicular accident in Saline County requiring rescue services by the Salina Fire Department shall be charged a service fee according to a fee schedule adopted by resolution of the governing body; provided, however, the service fee shall not be subject to payment by uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage held by any party involved in the accident. The City Manager is authorized to establish administrative procedures necessary to carry out the intent of this ordinance. For purposes of this section, the following definitions shall apply: (1) Non-resident driver shall mean the driver of a motor vehicle who (a) is not a resident of Saline County, Kansas; and (b) is not the owner of real estate located in Saline County, Kansas. (2) Rescue services shall mean vehicle extrication, scene stabilization, patient treatment, and Incident Command operations." Section 2.
