02-10080 1997 UMCf��ooavea��nna (Published in the Salina Journal on Mayot42002) ORDINANCE NUMBER 02-10080 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT TO SECTION 8-281 OF CHAPTER 8 PERTAINING TO UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE ADOPTED. BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That Sections 8-281 of Chapter 8 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 8-281. Uniform Mechanical Code adopted. There is hereby adopted, by reference, by the city for the purpose of providing minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property, and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, quality of materials, location, operation, alteration repair and maintenance of heating, ventilating, cooling, refrigeration systems, incinerators and other miscellaneous heat -producing appliances, that certain building code known as the Uniform Mechanical Code, recommended and published by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, being particularly the 1997 edition not including appendices thereto, except as amended in this article of the Salina Code, of which not fewer than three (3) copies have been, and are now filed in the office of the city clerk and the same are hereby incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein and the provisions thereof shall be controlling in the installation of all heat - producing appliances within the corporate limits of the city." Section 2. That the existing Sections 8-281 of Chapter 8 of the Salina Code is hereby repealed. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper (SEAL} ATTEST: i R.
