ORDINANCE NUMBER 07-10420
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTERS, ARTICLE 1, DIVISION 1 OF THE
SALINA CODE BY ADDING SECTION 8-14.1 PROVIDING FOR A LOCAL
AMENDMENT TO THE INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE SECTION 1204.1
PERTAINING TO SPACE HEATING REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERIOR
ENVIRONMENTS.

BE ORDAINED by the Governing Body of Salina, Kansas:
1 " Section 1. The Salina Code is hereby amended by adding section to be numbered 8-14.1,
which sections reads as follows:
"Sec. 8-14.1. Amendment of Section 1204.1 of the International Building Code.
[Section 1204.1 of the International Building Code is hereby amended to read as
follows -.1
1204.1 Equipment and systems. Interior spaces intended for human occupancy shall be
provided with active or passive space -heating systems capable of maintaining a minimum
indoor temperature of 68°F (20°C) at a point 3 feet (914 mm) above the floor on the design
heating day.
Exception: Interior spaces where the primary purpose is not associated with human comfort
such as warehouses and manufacturing facilities or other similar uses."
Section 2. That Section 8-14.1 is hereby added.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
adoption and publication once in the official city newspaper.
