An ordinance providing for the construction of certain sidewalk in the
city of Sal ina,Kansas .
Be it orR,<.aineed by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Salina:
Section 1. That the owner or owners of each of the lots and parts
of lots abutting on the West side of Phillip Street between State and,
Park St,rvets and Pn the South side of Park Street between Phillip Street
and the Missouri Pacii'ic Railroad track are hereby required to construct
or cause to be constructed on or before the 16th -day of July 1906,a side-
walk of the' material , width and in the manner -specified in th id ordinance.
Section 2. That the sidewalk provided for in Sec .1 of this ordinance
shall be of even grade throughout to be determined by the City Engineelr,*
and shall be built of the materia'! ,midth and in the manner specified and
required by the provisions of Ordinance No.1038 of the printed ordinances
of the city of Sal ina, and which said ordinance No.1038 is hereby incorp-
orated in and made a part of this ordinance.
Section 3. The committee on sidewalks of the city council shall as
soon as practicable after the said 16th.day of July 1906,cause said
sidewalk to be constructed in front of,along and adjacent to all or any
of the lots or parts of lots aboved described in section 1 hereof whos
owners fail and refuse to construct said sidewalk as required by this
ordinance and shall report its proceedings together with the length of the
walk se built and constructed and the actual expense thereof to the city
c ounc it .
Section 4. The expense of constructing said sidewalk by said coms
mitte;e shall be assessed against the real estate abutting thereon accord -
Ing to the front foot thereand collected as other taxes against such
resal.estate .
Section . This'ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal.
