An ordinance preventing the cutting or tearing up of strBetk:
pavOment within the City of Salina, excepting as provided herein and. -.- .v _,.�_
ptoviding a penalty therefor.
-Be it ordained by the 11"ayor and Councilmen of the City of
Section 1. Whenevern
e. y streett avenues, or alley is about to be'
paved, the City Engineer or his authorized representative, shall notify
the property holders, leasees or tenants on such street, avenue or alley,
so that all water, stem., gas, drain or sewer connections can be rade
prior Fo the paving of the same. After the subgrade has been rolled
preparatory to the laying of the pavement, no permit shall be issued
for the excavation in or on said street within twelve months of the
completion of the paving, except for the purpose of repairing leaks of
water, steam, gas, drain, surer or any other pipes or`
weaning hereby to prohibit excavation for all new work within the time
x above mentioned.

Section 2. Any one violating the provisions of Section 1 of this

ordinance may .be fined in any sum not exceeding $100.00.
Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force

frim and after its publication once in the Salina Rvening Journal
