An ordinance prove ding for the construction of certain sidewalks in
the cit-,, of Valina, Kansas.
3e it ordained by the Mayor ard the Councilinen .of the City of Salina:

Section 1: That the owner or owners of each of the several lots and
parts of lots mentioned and d4scribed in this ordinanan be, and they are
hereby required to construct a sidewalk in front of an abutting against
the several lots ,end. parts of lots in the manner and of the material
specified in this ordinande, on or before the 20th day of 7ovember, 1906.
to -wit: Lots 1, 2, 8, 4, 5, and &0 feet front Crowthers Reserve Addition,
and lot 7o e 11, Block 20, Pacific Addition, to the City of Salina, all
on the west side of 9th street, from Grand Avenus to Lincoln venue: and
H 1/2 of lots 03 and ?0, on ioth Street, Bishop's Addition, and E 1/2
of lot 42 on loth Street, Bishop's Addition, E 1/2 of lot 44, and E 1/2
of south 12 feet of lot -16, loth Street, E 1/2 of lot 48, and east 1/2
of north 87 feet lot 46, loth Street, and E 1 2 of lots 60 and 62, Loth
Street, Bishop's Addition, , E,r, of jot 0 1 loth Street, Bishop's
Addition FU 1/2 of lot 60, on 10th Street, Bishop's Addition, E 1/2 of
lot 62, loth Street, Bishop's Addition, lot 1, and E 1/2 of lots, 19,
20, 21, 22, 20, 24, 26, and 26, block 8, Depot Addition, all on the west
side of loth Street from Elm Ftrent to the Union Pacific Railroad, and
lot W, Elm Street, less south 10 feet, and W 1/2 of lot 54, 8th Street,
IR 1/2 of lot A 56, 8th Street, W 1/2 of lot 68; 8th Street, W !/2 of
lots 60 and 62, 8th Street, W 1/2 od lot 64, W 1/2 od north half of lot
662 3th Street, W 1/2 of lot 68, W 1/2 of lot 70, 8th Street, W 1/2 of
S 1/2 of lot 66, 8th Street, W 1/2 of lot 72, 8th Street, W 1/2 of
lot 74, 8th Street, and lot 76, Ash Street, all on the east side of 9th.

Section 2 That t1he sidewalk provided for in Sections 1 nV-5- of
this ordinance shall be of even grade througho,�t, to oe deteriiiined by
the city enjneer, and shall be built of the material and in the width
and manner specified and required by the provision of ordinance No. 1183,

V Section S. The committee on sidewalks of the City of Council shall,
as soon as practible, after the said 20th day of November, 1905, cause
such sidewalks to A constructed in front of along, and adjacent to all
or ani; of the lots and pats of lots above described in Section i hereof,
whose owneTs fail and refuse to construct said walks as required by this
ordinance, and shall f 9port its proceedings together with the length
of the walk so built and constructed; and the actual expense thereof,
to
thp City Council,
and said

soon as practible, after

of such walk as
described in Section 1 of this ordinance w -ho se owners fail and r4use
to construct same, as provided in this ordinance, and sucq committee
shall report such work in this regard to the City Council.
Section 4. The expense of constructing the walks described in
Section 1 hereof; by snid committee on side walks, shall be assessed
against the real estate abutting thereon, and collected as otter taxes
against said real estate.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its publication oncein the Salina Daily journal.
