Be it ord&dded by the IV-_`ayor and Councilmen of the city of Saline.:
Section I. That in accordance with Chapter 132, Se :cion Laws of
Kansas, 11903, -providing for t' -`e sprinkling of streets, and in compliance

See. 2. That advertisement forbids having been duly made as
heretofore ordered by the cit.,.,- council ink the official paper of said

, as required by law,, and It. A. Stevenson being the lowest respon-
sible bidder for the sprinkling of said street, the contrast for "the
sprinkling, of said street is hereby awarded to the said IM. A. Stevenson
at the monthly cost of sixty (60) aollars per month.- J
Sec. 3. For the purpose of defraying the cost and ex.:-ense of
such sprinklim7 -�. levy _aeon the real estate fronting upon that portion
of said street; of a tax sufficient to defray the entire expense of said
sprinkling, including cost of sprinkling intersections, is hereby,aythor-.
ized, -vhioh tax shall be apportione(Al according, to the lineal fr'o'tn foot-
age of propert.-ir adjacent to said street sprinkled without regard to
imiprovements thereon.
Sec. 4. That the atnount of said assessrient so levied shall be
paid into thell-reasur-y of said cit-, on -or before the first day -f August,
1906; that in case the same shall -not have "oeen paid with that time)
the amount so levied shall be certified to the clerk of Saline county,
Kansas, by the clerk- of said city, at the same, tim-e and in the same
miennneras other city taxes are, 10 1,,ihich shall be added a penalty of.fif-
teen percent.

5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
