OPDXANCE NO. 1244.
An ordinance providing for the curbing and guttering of Fifth street,
_between Ash street and Iron avenue,- in the city of Salina, Kansas.
Be it: ordained by the *'Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina:
Section 1. That both sides of Fifth street in the city- of Sa-
lina, between Ash street and Iron avenue, be curbed with best quality of
Allen stone, and guttered with best quality of Salina Vitrified brick;

such curbing and guttering to bekin all respects in conformity with the
specifications for stone curbing and brick guttering made by the city
engineer of 'said city and on file with the cite clerk -of said cit-y-.-

Sec. 2. That a contract for such-cc..urbing; and guttering be and
is hereby let to the Nelson Building '& Hercant.ile Conipa.ry, of Salina,
Kansas, at and for the price of one dollar and sixteen cents ($1-16)
perrunning foot, and that the city attouney be instructed to prepare
such contract and have the same executed by the mayor and city clerk on
behalf of said cit -,y; and that said contractor's be required to execute to
said city an acceptable bond in the slam of $500, conditioned for the faith-
ful performance of said contract.
Sec.,. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in force
f'rom' and after -its publication once in the Salina Evening. Journal.
