An ordinance making a,lovy of taxes for general revenue and other pur-
poses in the city of Salina, Kttnsas, for the year 19041.
Be it ordained by the. Mayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina:
Section I..., . That the s=. of .,twenty-three. (23.) mills on the dollar
bF.'and the Same'.* is hereby Ievied on all real, mixed and personal property
in- city of Salina, Kansas, for the year 1904, for the following pur-
p . oses and atportioned and dividod.as follows, viz: For general revenue,,
ten (10) mills on the dollar; for opening and Irovinc-,-5treets and alloys,
buildir-n- bridges, culverts q.n(3 crossings, five 51 ) mi'lls on the dollar;
for a sinking fund, two (2) mills on the dollar, for paying the interest
on outstanding bonds, five (5) mills on the dollar, and for the support of
a free public-library,.one (1) mill 'on the dollar.
Sec. 2. That the sum of four (4) mills on the dollar be and
the same is hereby levied on all real estate in the city of Salina,
Kansas for the year 1904, for the purpose of paging the third installment,
of and interest on sewer bonds issued by said city October 1, 1901, and
July 1) 1902, and -,.-,he fourth installment of and interest on, sewer bonds
issued by said city February 1, 1901.
Sec. 3.. That the levy of seventeen (17) mills on the dollar on
all real and personal property in the city of Salina, schdol district,

.1904, be.and the same is; hereby' ,approved.
Sec - 4. The valuat ' ion of the prop,-:rty upon which 'the foregoing
taxes are levied and assessed is, in all case, taken fr&.i the assessment
rolls of the present year in the county clerk's office of Saline county,,
,.3.nd it shall be the duty of the city' clerk, i-,muediately upon the publica-
tion of this ordinance, to transmit, a duly certified copy of the same to
the county clerk of Saline county, Kansas, to be placed aeon the tax rolls,
to be collected according to law.
I Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from
and after its publication once in the Salina Evening Journal.
