An ordinance providing for the construction of sewer in the cit; of
Salina, Kansas.

Be it ordained by the !JTayor and Councilmen of the city of Salina: --
Section 1 That the: mayor -and council of the city of Salina are.
hereby authorized and empowered to construct, or cause to be constructed,
within the city of Salina lateral and drainage sewers as follows, to -wit:
A twelve (12) inch:. lateral sewer commencing: in the manhole at Ash
street, then curving to the right with a radius of twenty (20) feet to a
point where the center, of the alley is tangent, from which it shall run
straight south in center of alley under Iron avenue, Walnut and liulberry
streets to center of South .street, a distance, of about three thousand
ninety ' (3090) feet; I
A fifteen (15) inch lateral sewer beginning at the man hole. in the
center of Ash. and Eleventh streets, thence south on Eleventh street to
X the center of State: street, thence west on State street t -o' center of
Eleventh street, thence south on Eleventh street to center of'Iron ave-
nue, thence west on Iron avenue to center of Baker street,, thence south o
Baker street across University Place on to the center -of Walnut street,
' thence west on Walnut street to center of Phillips street, a distance of

about -two thousand eight hundred thirty (2830) feet;
A .tvvelve (,12) inch drainage sewer beginning in the man hole on Tent_ h
and F1m streets, thence west in center of Elm street to center �of E1ev-
enth street,' a distance of about two hundred eighty-five (285') feet;
A. fifteen (15.) inch lateral and drainage: sewer beginning at a point
1�Non the right bank of the Smoky Hill River -due north of the; intersection
of Iron avenue and Delaware street, thence due south or southwest to a
junction with Iron avenue, thence due west on.said Iron avenue to the
center of First or Front street, a distance of thirty-six hundred (3600)
feet, more or less.
Sec. 2. That a contract for the building and construction of
all the above named and described severer is hereby let to the Salina
Plumbing Company, of Salina, Kansas, at and for the price or prices named
in its proposal, on file with the city clerk, and which said proposal is
hereby incorporated in and made.a part of this ordinance.
Sec. 3. That the city, attorney be instructed to prepare a contra
with.said Salina Plumbing Company for -the construction of all the sewer
herein provided for -and in accordance with the city engineer's plans "and
specifications therefor- on file with the city clerk, and that the mayor
and clerk execute said."cdntra.ct on behalf of said city.
Sec. 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from anc
after its publication once in the. 'Salina Evening Journal
