20 Fixed Asset Records CHARTER ORDINANCE NUMBER 20 A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, FROM K.S.A. 1980 SUPP. 75-1120(a) WHICH REQUIRES CERTAIN MUNICIPALITIES TO MAINTAIN FIXED ASSET RECORDS FOR BUILDINGS AND LAND. WHEREAS, 1980 S~pp. 75-1120(a) requiring certain municipalities of the State of ~Kansas to maintain fixed ~sset records for buildings and land, does not apply uniformly to fall municipalities of the! State of Kansas; and, WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas, wishes to exempt itself from the said provisions, sO NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED ~y the Board of Commissioners of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. TheiCity of Salina, Kansas, City of the first class, by the power vested in it by Article i~, Section 5, of the Constitution of the State of Kansas hereby elects to and does exempt itself from the provisions of K.S.A. 1980 Supp. 75-1120(a) and while still conforming wi~h all other generally accepted accounting principles make inapplicable to said cityithat portion of said statute which would otherwise require said city to maintain fixed asset records for buildings and land. Section 2. Thi~ ordinance shall be published once each week for two (2) consecutive weeks in the Salina Journail, the official city newspaper. Section 3. This/ is a Charter Ordinance and shall take effect sixty-one (61) days after final publication unless a sufficient petition for a referencum is filed as provided in Article 12, Se;tion 5, Subdivision (c)(3) of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, in which case the )rdinance shall become effective only if approved by a majority of the electors voting the 'eon.
