15 Police Fire Dept Retirement CHARTER ORDINANCE NUMBER (First Published in The Salina Journal (~2~,~ ~::/f-,~7 , 1977) A CHARTER ORDININCE REPEALING CHARTER ORDINANCE NUMBER 5 WHICH EXEMPTS THE CITY OF SALINA, KANSAS, FROM TtE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 13-14(a)O8 WHICH PROVIDES FOR PAYMENT 'IPON RETIREMENT TO CERTAII~ MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FIRE DEPARTMENT AND 'ROVIDING SUBSTITUTE AND kDDITIONAL PROVISIONS ON THE SAME SUBJECT. BE IT ORDAINED ,y the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. Tha Charter Ordinance Number 5 of the City of Salina, Kansas, be and the same is hereby re~ealed. Section 2. This ordinance shall be published once a week for two consecutive weeks in The Salina Journ~ , the official city newspaper. Section 3. This is a charter ordinance and it shall take effect sixty-one (61) days after final publicati ,n unless a sufficient petition is filed and a referendum held on the ordinance as providl;d in Article 12, Section 5, Subdivision (3) of the Constitution of Kansas in which case th, ordinance shall become effective if approved by the majority of the electors voting the eon.
